Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Massey.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m a homeschool mom to four kids ages 6, 4, 2, and 7 months. I also have two stepchildren ages 17 and 21. I got a camera for my birthday last year and discovered I love taking and editing photos. This was a natural transition for me to start blogging and then growing my Instagram page to do some influencer work. It’s been such a creative outlet for me while still allowing me to contribute to my family’s needs. It’s easy to lose yourself to some extent when you have kids, so this has allowed me to figure out what I actually enjoy again while still being home with my kids.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Honestly, I’m still trying to figure it all out- I mean do we ever have it all figured out 😂😂 but really for me the hardest part has been trying to find the balance between my work since it’s at home and my family. It’s something I’m still figuring out as I go and I know with each season of life- it may change and that’s ok.
My second biggest struggle has just been doubted- those voices in your head that tell you maybe you just aren’t good enough when in reality you are more than enough. And just remembering especially in our social media-driven industry that all you have to be is authentic and real and yourself.
Please tell us about your work.
As far as my work goes- I have a blog that I started almost a year ago that has been a dream of mine for a while. It has allowed me to use my love of photography and of writing and bring them together to create something that Im excited about and that’s a reflection of who I am. I blog mostly about motherhood, lifestyle, and fashion. This sort of opened some doors in the influencer world which is something else that is fairly new for me, but also something I love and am enjoying. I really try to just allow others to see our everyday lives and give them a chance to relate. Since I am a mom, most of the things I write about or even the products or brands that I represent tend to be geared toward moms, families, and kids.
Who have you been inspired by?
In my particular industry, it’s hard for me to see barriers when so many of the women I look up to are crushing goals and setting the bars even higher. I feel that in the social media world, women have very much made a place and a name for themselves and that will only continue to happen more and more. Definitely, something that all of us women can be proud of.
