Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Marquez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Michelle. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My love for the fashion and the beauty industry started when I was very young, around 16-17 I believe! I didn’t quite know what I wanted to do right after high school but I knew I wanted to be a part of the industry somehow. I got certified in makeup artistry first and made many friends who were already in fashion. Having this from early on, was extremely eye-opening and I made sure to keep my creative side flowing and open. I did a little bit of model scouting and blogging back then before officially dedicating myself to my studies. As of now, I’m currently a Mass Media Major at HBU, an experience that has been so wonderful and I’m truly grateful to have met so many creative minds like myself. It’s truly refreshing. It is never too late to go back and start again- and this is something that I have recently discovered. It takes years for someone to fully know themselves but once you do, you can only move forward. I thank God and my family for always being by my side and not letting me give up on my dreams. I just recently started blogging again – and it feels so refreshing. My skincare IG is called MaisonMarq and I focus on blogging about skincare, fashion, and lifestyle. Social media is an entire world on its own, and I’m just trying to form a part of it.
Has it been a smooth road?
My road to where I am now, definitely has not been easy – if anything staying motivated is a struggle on its own. Luckily, I have had strong and powerful women who have helped me along the way. Making me realize my worth and how important it is to keep fighting for what I believe.
My advice for the younger generation is to keep moving forward no matter what. If you have to start over, please realize it isn’t the end of the world, but a reason to start again fresh and with a better perspective on life. Never give up and try to connect with like-minded individuals who will help you grow as a person.

Right now, while in University, I’m starting to blog again and really focusing on how women can feel beautiful naturally. I focus on natural skincare and things that can help you glow from the outside within. There is nothing more beautiful and empowering than seeing a girl feel gorgeous just the way she is.
What advice would you give to someone at the start of her career?
My advice for a younger woman would be to stay motivated and be headstrong. Giving up is not an option! Also, to not let smaller obstacles interfere with what God has planned for you. You have to look at the bigger picture. Work hard, have faith in God (or whatever your beliefs) and remember the tremendous strength we as women possess.
