Natasha, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Hello! I’m 23 years old, a wife and mother. I started blogging about three years ago to share my favorite fashion items, and it grew into family and lifestyle! One thing I always told myself was that I’d always be true to myself and share the good and bad things. I don’t look put together 24/7 like most bloggers, and I want people to know it’s okay.
I will say I’ve been blogging for three years, but only until this year I’ve actually been hitting my goals. I tried for two years to get into this influencer program called LIKEtoKNOW.it. I failed countless times before I finally got it. I got so discouraged and sometimes felt like I’d never get in. I finally did this year! Blogging success doesn’t come overnight. There are many groups that you can join on Facebook and always ask for help! When people help each other, amazing things can happen. I hope I can always be a person people can message if they need help or have questions as well. I know some bloggers have fancy cameras and buy tons of new clothes, but you just need your phone and to have fun! Be true to yourself and don’t compare yourself to anyone else.
I’m part of the Houston Latina Blogger group and I’ve come to know so many amazing local bloggers that are so helpful and supportive through them!
Also this year, I started my business, TypicallyTosh Designs!
I handmake jewelry, leather items, and baby items as well on Etsy. Since becoming a mother, I’ve had more motivation and confidence in myself to be the best I can be for my daughter.

Has it been a smooth road?
Blogging is definitely not a smooth road. There are times when you will compare yourself and wonder why people get things and get to be apart of things (which seems like overnight) but I promise you to have your own path to take.
Don’t feel like you have to spend so much money buying clothes or props for pictures. Do try ons in store if you want! Talk about life to people, share restaurants, or anything you can think of. There’s tons of bloggers yes.. but no one has the experiences that you do. Share them! Want to share fashion and you’re tall? Share how things look on tall people! I know I follow a bunch of petite bloggers so find your passion and run with it.
What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
I work part-time, but I’m mostly a stay at home mom to my daughter Alba who’s ten months old. She is the thing I’m most proud of, just because I’ve learned so much since having her. I learned to be confident in posting more photos and starting my business.
I believe what sets me apart from others is how real I can be. I won’t always have my hair done or makeup- I’m sure in most of my pictures my hair is up haha! I share the milestones of my daughter and life in general. I get the most interaction when I post life-related things so I try to be raw and share any info I have on things that happen.
There’s a wealth of academic research that suggests that a lack of mentors and networking opportunities for women has materially affected the number of women in leadership roles. Smart organizations and industry leaders are working to change this, but in the meantime, do you have any advice for finding a mentor and building a network?
I say always find a group that fits your life. There’s women blogger groups, culture/ethnic related groups, etc. on Facebook. I have a handful of blogger friends who I feel like I can message and talk to about any questions I have.
What’s worked well for me is always keep going. I felt discouraged at times and I was told no from some people, but keep asking and you’ll get an answer. I finally had someone help me with one of my goals and it meant so much to me!
