Today we’d like to introduce you to Tia Gibson.
Tia is the Owner and Lead Designer of D. Claire Designs, LLC in Houston, Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce, graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA from both universities.
After an 8 year career in pharmaceutical sales, Tia left the industry to assist her husband in his Chick-fil-A franchisee career for four years as his Restaurant Marketing Director in Atlanta and Business Development Director in Houston. Once the marketing team was established, she decided to pursue her dream of owning her own interior design firm in 2015. The name D. Claire Designs derives from her two daughters, Kaitlyn Diane (7) and Karrrington Claire (3). Tia and her husband, Branden, wanted to establish a company that would help carry their family legacy of hard work, creativity, and love for the arts.
The catalyst for the success of her firm began with the purchase of a fixer-upper in Houston’s west side neighborhood of Briargrove Park, where she completely transformed the exterior and interior of her family’s home. The immediate success of her company has captured the attention of many design and renovation professionals! Her natural ability to reimagine a space has caused her to receive rave reviews from past clients and her business was built by referrals alone. Now, the company has expanded to have two additional contracted employees, an extensive portfolio of recommended builders/contractors, and an ever-growing social media presence.
Please tell us about your business.
I focus solely on interior design and renovations. I love to maximize the potential of any space! My goal is to provide a service that will change the way my clients view their homes. I want people to walk in and feel an immediate sense of awe and ease in their space.
How do you define success? What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I define success by being able to consistently do what I am passionate about, having clients feel stretched beyond what they thought they would want or imagine their space could be, and maximizing the gift that God has given me.
The characteristic I feel that is essential to success as an artist in my field is flexibility. As an artist that caters to a variety of clients with different preferences and styles, I have to be flexible in my creative nature to fit their individual wants/needs but within my overall vision for space.
