Today we’d like to introduce you to Chandra Richardson.
Hi Chandra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I found photography as a child, growing up in Upstate New York, my father worked at Kodak and he would bring me home disposable cameras all the time. I photographed EVERYTHING! I went to college for Visual Communications with a focus in photography, before moving to South Carolina and going back to school for Photography and Graphic Design.
I’ve photographed everything from abstract, to still life, portraits, and weddings. But my absolute favorite is photographing mothers. There is something so special and so powerful in a mother, whether she’s waiting for her first babe to arrive or is holding her fifth…it’s all beautiful. Don’t even get me started on the look in her eyes as she holds her babe…a moment of pure unconditional love forever captured in a single image…that’s what I live for! I’m excited to be here in Texas and meet the new and expecting Mamas and have the opportunity to tell their stories.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I am showing myself and others that with hard work, consistency, and dedication, you can do absolutely anything. Dreams don’t have to be dreams forever.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a maternity and newborn photographer. Clients come to me because of the experience I can give them. It’s hard during pregnancy to feel beautiful, but if for one day, for just a couple of hours, I can get you to put on a beautiful dress and get your hair and make up done, we can create some beautiful images that you will look at for years to come. My hope is that this is how my clients will remember the days of their pregnancy…yes, it was hard, and many days they may not have felt the best, but through all of that, they are beautiful and they have done something amazing.
