Life & Work with Mariela Aguirre

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariela Aguirre.

Hi Mariela, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Lone Star Capital Diamond (LSCD) was created with one objective in mind: Servitude. Since our opening, LSCD has been able to provide many women and men the encouragement and knowledge to be equipped to start their own businesses in different industries.

An array of opportunities to serve individuals in other fields presented themselves. One such field is Real Estate, where LSCD positioned itself to provide housing (both long-term and short-term) to tenants. Related to Real Estate, current homeowners have much to look after in their property—whether it is doing an aesthetic renovation or a complete facelift to their home. For this reason, we launched a Property Renovations service to provide affordable renovation services to homeowners. With providing this service comes the opportunity to network with a plethora of service providers in the industry. When LSCD is not able to assist with a customer’s specific need(s), this network allows LSCD to connect customers with the appropriate service providers. This increases the service providers’ pool of potential customers and builds rapport and revenue while supporting local small businesses. Helping each other within the community is always a win-win in our eyes.

When the pandemic hit the United States in 2020, our essential workers were in labor-intensive jobs that required their physical presence. This meant a continuous flow of heavier-than-usual work hours and shortened breaks in order to replenish goods for the general public. Due to the shortened breaks and many restaurant closures, the mass amount of employees were limited on their nourishment choices. It was this that prompted us to launch the Vending Machine Services operatives in Houston to provide cold foods, snacks, and beverages. Through today, we have analyzed the slow pace of establishments and offices reopening and have studied many other locales with similar needs that we have pinpointed to be the next source for our services. In the midst of this research also came other favorable chances to help within the community that we will be implementing soon.

Looking into the future, we continue to find gaps that require innovative solutions in a multitude of industries. It is with this mindset that we strive forward to obtain more resources and channels of opportunities that will aid in broadening our reach to place ourselves in an even better position to help more people within the community through Lone Star Capital Diamond.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Opening LSCD last year definitely presented some challenges for our Property Renovations company since we wanted to ensure the safety of our staff and also those of our clients. It was due to that that we were not able to operate for the rest of 2020. While it was challenging, this gave us time to focus on other plans and build our customer relations.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Aside from being an entrepreneur for Lone Star Capital Diamond, for the past 15 years, I have also been a full-time employee for Tramontina USA, which is a Brazilian-based manufacturer of home goods. As Senior Project Coordinator, my main focus is in overseeing multiple internal and customer-based projects to ensure that packaging development and corresponding collateral are executed and planned for in a timely manner to meet our ship dates.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I love networking! I feel that it is undervalued in how much improvement we can achieve together as entrepreneurs simply by not seeing each other as competition but rather collaborators even if it is in the same field. The opportunity to work with me would be by reaching out via email (info@lonestarcapitaldiamond.com) and seeing where we might be able to collaborate.

To me, I feel that every follow, retweet, repost, tag, etc., in social media can all be beneficial in supporting any business. You might not be in need of my service, but someone on your feed might be searching for someone like me to help them. That is how I truly feel support can be shown.
