Meet Aaron Morales of A.M. Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Morales.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Aaron. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Ever since I was a young child I’ve always had a weird obsession with starting businesses or making money. Growing up I was different from most kids my age and instead of spending the majority of my time playing outside, I wanted to do weird stuff like wash cars, or mow grass to earn a profit. As I grew older everything just evolved, and I started selling candy and all the hottest mixtapes in middle school. Later on, in high school, I would build a rep as a hustler/music tastemaker and when at parties, all my peers would always ask me to tell the “DJ” what to play.

After one night of helping a clueless DJ out and figuring out how much he got paid, I decided to invest in DJ Equipment and wanted to study the art of DJ’ing. For me, I noticed a need and an opportunity. This guy clearly didn’t respect the craft of DJ’ing and was so out of touch with music and got paid a ton for it! Music was something that was always subconsciously in my life and I really enjoyed it. If I could combine my love for music and business, this would be something truly special. With the help of my dad, I would later invest in some equipment, start practicing and perform at local events.

After perfecting and learning the art of DJ’ing for a few years, I started A.M. Productions in late 2015. I wanted to start a DJ company that provides quality and reliable service for the city of Houston that specializes in wedding and corporate entertainment.

Today, I am in charge of event consultations and oversee quite a few DJ’s in the company and because of our strong work ethic and attention to detail, we’ve successfully built a five-star rating on all our outlets such as Facebook, Yelp and Event Wire. One of our recent accomplishments was to win the Couple’s Choice Awards on Wedding Wire consecutively every year since 2016.

In which means we are in the top 5% of local wedding professionals in our area that demonstrate excellence in quality, service, responsiveness, and professionalism. In addition to that, we’ve established an exclusive relationship with a talent agency, “The Radio DJ’s” (Dallas), in which has allowed me to have a residency with popular global sports brand “Top Golf”.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely no! I mean we’ve been fortunate enough to have awesome clients and great opportunities but as a business owner, there will always be bumps in the road. Whether if that’s from day to day operations, last minute events, or not getting enough sleep, as an entrepreneur you must accept the challenges that come with doing what you love for a living and for pleasing your clients. But as stated before, I’ve been fortunate to grow professionally and learn how to minimize or confront any challenges.

For me, despite the challenges that come, I wouldn’t change it! I say BRING IT ON!

A.M. Productions is a mobile DJ entertainment company based out of Houston, TX that specializes in corporate and wedding entertainment. We can bring the excitement of the club to your wedding, school dance, birthday party of any other event.

I’m most proud of our Wedding Wire Reviews in which has led us to win the Couple’s Choice Awards consecutively for the past few years. Although we have not gotten all our clients to do a review, I really enjoy that our previous clients took the time of their busy day to leave a review on our services. It’s funny cause some clients would tip us $200 but forget to do the review! aha, it’s sort of frustrating at times.

What sets us apart from any DJ company, is our attention to detail and our desire to be one of the best companies with quality DJ’s. Most companies get complacent and don’t focus on their talent or clients as they should. For myself, I want to treat everyone like family, whether if that’s from staff or clients. I want to help them and bring as much value to them as I can. Although we’re in our beginning stages, I’m very excited to see what the future holds.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Hard work: As the saying goes, “Hard work beats talent”. When I first started out, I wasn’t the very best, but after practicing and taking the art of DJ’ing seriously I’ve managed to surpass people who started 10+ years before me!

This goes for business as well, I’m currently enrolled into the University of Houston’s Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship and one of the main things that they teach us is ACTION. In order to get what you want in life, you’ve got to challenge yourself, execute and put in the hard work.

My company would be nowhere If it was not for persistence and hard work. That goes for myself, and my team who’ve worked hard on events, projects, and their own personal growth.
