Meet Adriana Garrido of The Berry Fab in East Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Garrido.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Adriana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It all started when my son was born March 16, 2020. I had quit my original job to be a new stay at home mom. To devote as much time to my baby boy. At first making strawberries started out as a hobby I LOVE chocolate covered strawberries they are my weakness! This is a great business because I have the chance to take care of my baby and have the pleasure of doing what I love, having my own schedule, getting creative, and most importantly being my own boss. It’s crazy because I always wanted to call something my own The Berry Fab gives me the chance to do so.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Definitely has not been a smooth road and everyone that owns a business can attest to that. Sweat and tears at midnight because you broke a chocolate heart or even because your supplies didn’t come on time. There are many obstacles along the way. Of course I want my customers to have the best chocolate covered strawberries out there. I had to buy strawberries from different vendors to see which ones where the best. Along the road is all about trial and error but at the end of the day I learned a lot about my business and not to make the same mistake twice.

The Berry Fab – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I specialize in making chocolate covered strawberries and other dipped sweets. What The Berry Fab is best known for is the toppings I put in my berries the most popular ones been almond, tamarind, and cheesecake. Its heaven in a box basically. I can assure you that every box of strawberries that goes out to my customers hands is made with love, dedication, and sweetness. What definitely sets my business apart from others is my customers, they all tell me what kind of customized box they want, and I make their ideas come to life. They are definitely the foundation of this business and I can’t thank them enough for it.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My husband is my number one supporter he has been my assistant since day 1 and the one who believed in me when nobody else did. He is the other face of The Berry Fab. Also my family, I want to thank them for eating all those strawberries that weren’t the greatest at the beginning, to telling me which ones I should sell and which ones not to sell.
