Meet A’izeen

Today we’d like to introduce you to A’izeen.

A’izeen, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Music is often a portal for words left unspoken to be heard. Since a child, I have always loved the vibrations of music and how they made me feel, however, it wasn’t until recently that I began creating songs and exploring my range in music. Before becoming a full-time musical artist, I was a slam poet. I did not know that my training in poetry would be the foundation to my love for creating music with a strong emphasis on lyrical and vocal expression and arrangement, that is the type of music that I hope to manifest in every track. Music has carried me for my entire life and has gotten me through many good days and bad. I wish to do the same for others—to share a relatable truth.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
If it’s easy, is it really worth it? The road has not been smooth, but where there are lapses there are lessons. As an artist, choosing what music to release, dealing with self-criticism, and trying to persuade others to see your vision can be very challenging I am a scientist by training, and so I love a good challenge, but music is art, “and I’m sensitive about my shit”, haha.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I am singer and an original songwriter. I am versatile in art form, but if I had to categorize myself into a certain sector of musical genre, I’d probably say R&B/Soul, at least in this moment. What I am most proud of is actually getting out there, with it being so many creatives, the market can seem over-saturated, and possibly intimating but the music what people wants to hear. What amazes me even more is that I am just breaking the surface. My fans know me for bringing or intensifying a vibe. What sets me apart is my fashion sense, voice of course, and my ability to step out of the box to do something different within the arena of creating.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I would probably have started sooner, I would’ve tapped into my vision much earlier. Time is our most valuable asset and we don’t get it back, but hindsight is always 20/20, and there is no better time than the present.
