Meet Alan Pugach Barker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alan Pugach Barker.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Alan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Since I was born, I was around creatives, like music, art, and so on. Naturally, I’ve always had an ear for music. When I was little, I would listen to music on the radio and would imagine a better version of the song, with instruments that I would add to, or instruments I would take out, or a better vocalist in mind for the song than the vocalist featured on that song. I was A&Ring before I knew that job existed.

As far as art, when I was little, I would sketch a lot, I remember I would sketch a row of made up shoes, clothes, then face, and hair, then I would pick and choose which I like and sketch it together to see what it would look like together.

I’m not a painter, I can’t sketch beautifully, but I feel like my vision is my strongest ability. That’s why I can do music, come up with concept art, ideas for videos, comic books, architectural designs and etc. I can apply my visions to anything and everything. Imagination is power, especially if you’re using this ability towards science and truth, not just entertainment.

I’m an independent A&R in every way, I’m a producer in every way, not just in music.

Has it been a smooth road?
There are many snakes in the grass in anything you do, especially in music. So, have your business straight before you start your creativity.

Also, learning the business is key. The legal side of things, contracts, publishing, etc.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m an independent A&R and producer manager. But for the most part, I produce, I’m not a beatmaker, big difference, but I produce the music, the art, everything.

I also find artists, producers, digital artists, publicists, just about everybody. And help them find their respective counterparts.

Besides A&R & etc, I’m also in the process of getting my real estate license, being versatile is key.

What I’m most proud of would be the fact that I’m able to be creative and others can be a witness to it because a lot of the creativity comes with messages, sometimes hidden messages, and important ones. It’s my way of displaying truth rather than be too upfront about it.

On the music side of things, my brother Nico Pugach is also a producer, beatmaker, and engineers music as well. He has produced for artists such as Dizzy Wright, Kid Ink, Honey Cocaine and more. Even though we’re both independent, we also do team up on certain projects as well.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like most about Houston is thats it’s a good city to network in. There’s a diversity of people. A good mix of everything.

The least thing about Houston that I don’t care much for is the traffic.
