Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Morris.
Angela, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Right now, today when I think of how far I’ve come, I go back to hearing my daddy saying “Get your education, be independent and Do Not depend on no one!”; also seeing how my mom respected herself as a lady at all times plus the respect and care she have for others has truly led me to this point.
Not to mention the Grace of God for carrying me and allowing me to fulfill this mission that’s obviously way bigger than I, touching so many lives daily. From state to state. I’ve always had a genuine care for the head of hair. As a child, my sisters and I had lots of long thick beautiful hair and our mom always kept it combed nice and neat. That alone taught me that the head of hair plays a major role in our daily lives. I became intrigued with hair early on in life and when I started having friends I began to play in their heads. Trying all kinds of hairstyles and as the time went on, as I got older I was beginning to love the outcome of how I was making the girls feel and smile once I was done with their hair. I got better with time and I decided I would make hair styling my career. I started cosmetology school in 1992 and graduated in 2011. It took me that long cause I hated school. However, I completed that for me. It’s never too late. Being a licensed cosmetologist was the best feeling and just knowing it was so much more was something to look forward to. My clientele grew over the years to now the age range is changing, hair textures are noticeably not the same, some clients have great hair and then there’s the damaged hair that needs major repairs; you name it I’ve seen it.
From seeing and listening to the people with all these different hair concerns, I be saying to myself I have to do something about this. Now everyone is getting the bald spots, thinning areas, male pattern baldness or whatever the case may be and it seems so sudden. I’ve learned it can sometimes be preventable and it’s not always permanent. The thought of me having my name on products that would not only grow the hair but its gonna thicken and keep it super healthy while growing it rapidly started then. That thought became my reality. I came up with solutions to change and better most hair concerns. Not only does it have tons of amazing healthy benefits for your hair it’s also 100% natural. There’s absolutely no chemicals in any of my products. That’s a promise that’s a fact.
After years has passed, this concern has now turned into an epidemic and it’s getting real obvious even with our youth. I just woke up the morning of May 2016 and decided then to go for it and start my research. I did that; came up with all-natural ingredients for hair growth and thicker hair. I went to grab all those things and my first mine said make a water base spray. Make it as a tea formula. I did and I started using it on myself and clients first. We all started noticing the fast hair growth plus the hair was getting thicker. On myself and my clients. It delivered what I ordered and that was fast hair growth and thicker hair. Others started using it and I knew then it was a success just from the feedback of the users. At that time, it had no name we called it “the spray” lol. It’s now called Amazing Hair Tea.
Shortly afterwards I was getting asked if I made a hair grease. I don’t but hold up a sec I will. I did my research again for all-natural of course cause that’s what The Strand Collection represents at all times. I put it together and we started using it and just like the wet spray its another success. I call it Natural Strands Hair Foods. Along came the oil drops which I call PURE Hair Grow Drops. These are my babies and today I have an online store where they’re sold as well as out of my beauty shop which is located in 5th ward, Houston. They are soon to be in the beauty supply stores and I can’t wait for them to be a household item. They’re for everyone. They’re amazing and most of all affordable. It doesn’t take a fortune to have and maintain healthy hair.
Has it been a smooth road?
Knowing what’s ahead, seeing all the smiles and hearing all the positive feedback that comes with using my products is what makes it a smooth sail for me. Knowing I’m helping someone with something that I myself created and produced. I’m not at all saying I don’t struggle with building my business because I do; daily. Everyday I’m learning something new about it and brainstorming about what I can do to improve this and that to make it feasible for the people that use The Strand Collection Organics. If I was to say honestly that’s probably my biggest struggle. I’m always thinking of the people. What do they need and how would they want it. I’m still struggling with some things but just knowing I’m heading in the right direction with God’s favor, I gotta keep going. It will always be struggles as long as you’re in business. Nothing about it is total smooth sailing. However, I learned as long as my ship keeps sailing I know I’m getting closer to shore.

I am a licensed hairstylist based in Houston, Texas. I have a small beauty shop named The Strand Hair Salon located in the heart of the almighty 5th ward.
I have an amazing clientele in which lots of them have been my clients for 15 years or more, I’m known for hair cutting by everyone. They all know Angie gone cut some hair! Perfecting a hair cut is so major to me. Without a good hair cut you have no style. I have an eye for a perfect head of hair. I look at all of my clients as family so naturally the love and care I have for them is genuine. They’re apart of me and when they walk out of my beauty shop they leave with a part of me. I strive for doing my absolute best for them.
I’m most proud of my businesses because I solely built them alone. I can remember when I first got my own salon, I literally put blood, sweat and tears into making it ready to work in while it was mid-July without electricity because I knew I had no one else to depend on for the help with it. Rain, sleet or heat I was preparing my business for my clients to have a comfortable environment to come to for their hair services. Even with The Strand Collection Organics I’m constantly making improvements which in return makes me proud.
Sticking to what I know and believe in is what’s keeping me in the game for so long. Providing what the people need is a forever necessity and I plan to always have solutions for a concern when it comes to the head of hair. Always staying true to the people is what sets me apart. Providing knowledge when needed and having genuine care is powerful combination that I have embedded in me.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Our city is so diverse. One thing that we all have in common is hair loss of some sort. Houston is the perfect place for The Strand Collection Organics. They’re for all types of hair, ages and genders. I think we all can agree that Houston covers all that.
