So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was working for an oil and gas company, and at the time, oil was at its all-time low. With several people being laid off, I knew it was a matter of time until I was one of those people. I needed a backup plan and a way out. Knowing that my life was about to change, I had to move quickly. I had just gotten married, brought my first home and now was facing being unemployed. I saw Eyebrow Microblading on Instagram and was fascinated with how real it looked and how much more youthful the face was just with an eyebrow enhancement. As I dug deeper into Microblading, I realized that it was something I could learn, never did I think this could be a carreer. I decided to take a leap of faith and allow myself to be the author of my own story. If I failed, I failed myself. I no longer wanted anyone to have that power over my life. I took my last $2,000 dollars and invested in Microblading with a local PMU artist in South Houston. I was so scared! Two thousand dollars is a lot, but I was investing in myself. Here I am today as an artist & educator.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a battlefield! I worked two jobs one every other day because I wanted security to be honest. I didn’t want to fully let go of a stable Job, so I worked part-time at a bail bonds office to have a steady income. Brows came to me as clients booked, but even at that I faced being rejected because I was a new artist. I didn’t let that discourage me though. I started to do my friends and families brows for free to help build my portfolio and show people my work.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I specialize in Eyebrow Microblading, in other words, an eyebrow enhancement. Microblading is a semi-permanent solution to thin or sparse brows, or even if you’re looking for something more shapely and bold. Sometimes, referred to as eyebrow embroidery, eyebrow feathering, 3D brows or micropigmentation, microblading is a type of tattoo artistry that involves implanting pigment under the skin using a special hand-held tool that features a fine blade with a series of micro-needles. Each individual stroke is made one at a time for results that are incredibly natural looking. I’m known for a natural look for sure! I believe that a natural look is always best, because trends pass, but natural beauty is timeless.

I am very resilient, hardworking and always wanting to be around positive energy and people who are growing.
