Meet Anthony Chase

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Chase.

Anthony, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am 28 years old born in Honolulu, Hawaii. I’m an ARMY brat to a mother who is approaching her 30th year of service and a father who retired after four years of service. After my parents divorced my father retired from the military and returned home to Rhode Island. I remained with my mother.

My mother and I lived in Houston, TX and my father lived in Rhode Island after their separation in Hawaii. Prior to middle school, I have had to live on and off with my mother and father constantly changing schools never being able to maintain friendships. I was bullied growing up and as a result, I fought at almost every grade and every age up until middle school. The bright side is I was able to travel a lot of places and see many people and picked up my first dream of becoming an airline pilot.

After completing high school, I attended The University of Texas at San Antonio, where I completely came into my own in music. The very first thing I wanted to do was to continue what I started at home and that was to join the university gospel choir. I was apart of this choir from my entire college career in 2009 through 2015. I’ve gone from a general member to leading two of the highest positions which were President and Director all while pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I was extremely busy, to say the least, I honestly don’t understand how I juggled all the responsibilities. While in the choir I became a student of learning about Gospel to now leading and teaching and ministering to others. I constantly and consistently studied and practiced in the ART’s building vocal sound booths between classes and after school hours. I’ve went home listening to Gospel music hearing and absorbing the spirit in which this music derived from. It is more than picking up a microphone and singing. It is a spiritual and emotional connection with the creator. It is a connection with the energy of the universe. This unexplainable force that we feel, I call it God.

I have endured health challenges during my journey in life so far. I was diagnosed in 2012 with “Acinic cell carcinoma” which is a rare type of cancer in my right ear. This news completely altered my path in life. I had to skip a semester of school to then undergo approximately two months of Proton radiation therapy. The frightening thing about this procedure was that it was being done to my right ear which is where the facial nerves were as well as the brain. The side effect of this procedure left me without a saliva gland and destroyed my facial hair on the right side of my face. I’ve dealt with loss of hair on my face and head. I still to this day have scarring from the radiation. Through all of this, I never stopped singing, I never waived in my faith even at a young age. I just knew things would work out for my good in the end.

I started my journey to entrepreneurship in 2018. I had just moved back home to Houston after I quit my job as an Engineer in Virginia. Although the experience was great and one to remember, I was still unfulfilled in life. I knew there was more to life than simply waking up and going to work sometimes seven days a week 10-12 hours a day. I have decided to start my career in Real Estate where I wanted to become an agent and investor. I have also decided to begin my career in singing as well. I knew I had to pursue a career that was going to allow flexibility in my time and finances to pour into my passion which is music and singing. I, like many new entrepreneurs, have failed my first year in attempting to start my business in real estate. I knew nothing, had no mentors to guide me, I was completely fresh in an industry that did not care whether I was an engineer. My degree couldn’t save me. I had to learn and teach myself everything I know now to be successful. On top of that, I had a home to pay for and bills. Soon, the money I had saved from working in Virginia was depleted and I had to pick up delivery jobs for restaurant companies and warehouse jobs. However, I never stopped pursuing my goal. The goal was to begin a career in something that would allow me time and money to begin my music career, the thing I am most passionate about. Fast forward, with the help of my friend/brother I have been able to get the ball rolling to see the fruits of my labor. Even though I have a long way to go.

Everything, I want to do it all, from fulfilling my childhood dream of becoming a pilot to owning my own successful companies/business. I have released a song entitled “Mold Me” in February of 2019 and it is available on all digital outlets. You can purchase it on (https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/anthonychase1) I plan on releasing two more singles this year. My ultimate goal is to have an entire project album if you will release in 2020. I plan to be a shining light of what overcoming looks like. To represent H-Town in the most positive way I know how and to always inspire and minister to the soul of every person my music/ministry reaches. So, stay tuned.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has definitely not been smooth. I have had many Struggles in life so far even with me being at a young age. I have dealt with the scare of getting diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. I have dealt with the process of family separation and always going back and forth between parents until I finally remained stable with my mother in Houston, TX. I also have dealt with the failure of starting a business. I have dealt with self-doubt, always wondering if I am good enough or am I able to do this.

During this process of me stepping out and finally utilizing my gift of singing to become an artist who now has his first single. That process showed me a lot. Showing me my true supporters and helping me see myself in a light that I could not see before. During this journey, I allowed self-doubt to hold me back but thankfully God allowed me to come across some true friends that are like family who support me and encourage me to keep pushing forward and helping me believe that my Gifts are good enough.

I have had failed moments but have also had many successful moments. So, I would have to say that the GOOD truly does out way the bad.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am my own business. Actually, I have two businesses.

My first business is my Artistry. I am an Up and Coming Gospel Recording Artist. I specialize in Singing. And currently, I am known for my singing gift. I am EXTREMELY proud that I recently released my very first single entitled “Mold Me”. and completed it with great quality. I am a part of my Friends Management Company called “Gifted Entertainments LLC”. Being that we are both new to the industry, we are growing daily. We have had many accomplishments such as me stepping into becoming a recording artist and also gaining more supporters. I am so happy to be able to say that having a team of people that you know truly and honestly support you through it all makes a great difference. Knowing that when you call on them, they will be right there. I am so grateful. I am active on social media so you can follow me and the management company on Facebook and Instagram.

My singing is a true passion that I want to do. I am currently working on my next single which I will be releasing two more this year and then releasing a full project in 2020. So, stay tuned. This Artistry business is allowing me to step into a position to where I want to create my own platform versus becoming a part of what’s already out there.

I believe that what sets me apart from others is the Authenticity of my Artistry. When I sing, I tap into a place to where I minister to myself before anything, which then reaches the people that are listening. I do not sing to just sing; I sing to actually create a change in someone’s life. Also setting me apart from others is knowing what and who I am doing it for. Right now, I am focused on the Gospel Music so I know that I am doing it for the Kingdom of God and not just for the money or to put on a show. I believe that being Authentic is what will help you when it comes to longevity

People are able to Book me by emailing me and through my social media.

My second business I recently started back up is my Real Estate Investing business called “Akoni Real Estate”. This one has taken some time. I started in 2018 but things did not quite work out. But fast forward to 2019, God allowed me to step back in the game and got me back on track with the vision. This Business I am very proud of and extremely proud that I have already had some success so far with selling and buying homes here in the Houston area. This business is the avenue that I am using to be able to fund my Artistry Business. This business allows me to have free time to be able to focus on both businesses. What sets me apart in the business is my hard work ethic and my drive to want to succeed.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I would not say luck, but I will say “ALL GOD”. I believe that God has gotten me to where I am today. Keeping God at the forefront of anything I do has helped see me through all the struggles and allowed me to see great success as well as success in the people I am connected too. Also being able to help me see doors that need to be opened and seeing the vision of how I can open all the doors that are in front of me.
