Today we’d like to introduce you to Antoine Geffrard.
Antoine, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started A.G. Ministries (Anointed Gracefully) based on our youth need to be encouraged, shaped, and transformed. Anointed Gracefully speaks to how God takes us and places his anointing over our lives, but He does this Gracefully with respect and much care. This is what I am all about. Showing others that God has an anointing, plan, and purpose for their lives and have spent countless years showing this to the next generation. It first started with me though as I am a product of someone else hard work and prayers. I started off being adopted by my grandmother because my mother was on drugs and couldn’t take care of me and my brothers. In my childhood life I’ve had to overcome being abandoned by my mother; my father not believing I was his child; a mother who finally came to get my brothers and I but introduced us to many men that she’d dated; being kicked out of schools in Georgia because I was too bad and had anger issues; and then finally moving with my father in the 5th grade and almost committing suicide.
I went through all of that which helped birth a ministry out of me (Anointed Gracefully ministries). I can now proudly say that I’ve been a Pastor for 13 years (Since the age of 21). I have a wife and four kids (Jalah, Kiana, Kayla, and Antoine Jr.) whom I love with all of my heart and am an intentional father to. I believe if I wouldn’t have gone through these trials and situations, I wouldn’t be the man that I am today.
Overcoming those situations was no easy matter but this is what birth me also to write my debut book “Keys To Achieving Your Purpose.’ It was through all of this that I realized God has a purpose for my life. He didn’t bring me through all of that just to have me to be normal or fit into someone’s box. He had something special for me and now I would like to share it with the world.
My book is all about inspiring our youth and young adults to seek their why? Why they’re still here? Why do God believe that they are so special? These answers are all found and wrapped up in their purpose.
Has it been a smooth road?
In writing my book a few struggles were. Do I have a good enough story to tell? Will this help somebody else? Self-doubt kicked in as well. Even while starting A.G. Ministries for the simple fact that I didn’t want people to think it is all about me. It is about God and because He has allowed me to have such a great testimony this is why His ministry and my book has come forth. We all have a story to tell but the question is. When will you tell yours? I’ve decided in 2020 that my story needed to be told and I am not ashamed of it.
A.G. Ministries – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
A.G. Ministries focuses on encouraging, shaping, and transforming lives. We do this through personal one on one coaching, mentorship, and now our new effort called the “Purpose Program.” This program allows other leaders, school mentors, and spiritual leaders to take a group of people through a curriculum and my book “Keys to Achieving Your Purpose.” Assisting them on the journey to finding their true selves and what God has purposed them to do for this generation.
This is what sets me apart from others is that I have my own unique story and journey that God has given me. It’s not about any competition but just staying in the lane that He has provided me to be in. I am most proud of this fact and that He choose to use me to tell this particular story at this particular time.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Houston is a very thriving city. From the time I came to Houston in 2017 I’ve found out that pride is something that Houston doesn’t lack at all. I’ve studied the formation of Houston and the foundation of Houston is laid upon a “can do attitude”. The people of Houston have been so welcoming and hospitable to my family and I. The thing that I like least about Houston is obviously the traffic lol. Houston has some very rough roads and if you add traffic to that it can be a literal nightmare for me and my car lol.
