Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Fuentes.
Ashley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Real Estate and Design have always been a passion of mine. When I was a kid, I watched my dad broker real estate deals for residential and commercial clients and it really caught my interest. I knew that one day I would incorporate real estate into my career path.
In 2007, I started an event planning company where I planned, coordinated and designed hundreds of weddings, parties, and corporate events. The special events industry taught me a lot about the variations of styles, managing budgets, space planning, and working with a wide variety of vendors. So, when I decided to make a shift into real estate, I was able to make an easy transition with the experience I had gained. I wanted to continue the creative side of the real estate business. From there I looked into home staging associations and training courses, and decided this was definitely the industry for me. I absolutely love everything about home staging and design. I love preparing homes for sale and giving homeowners and agents amazing results!
Has it been a smooth road?
Some of the struggles that I have faced with home staging is keeping up with the demand. That is a great problem to have, but it was unexpected. Real Estate has its feast or famine times so we do everything we can to work with as many clients as possible, while keeping a reign on the growth, expenses, and time. It is awesome watching our business grow and succeed so quickly. In a short period, we have doubled our business and project to double it again by the end of this year.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Staging The Nest – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Staging The Nest is a home staging and design company. Our focus is on staging Vacant and Occupied homes in order to increase the visual appeal of the homes to help them sell quickly and for top dollar. In addition to home staging, we also renovate and flip homes and manage renovations and remodels for our clients’ homes and commercial spaces.
Home Staging is an unlicensed industry so anyone could become a home stager if they decided to. The difference that I bring to the table is my commitment to the industry through certification, training, continuing education, designations, and relationships. I say this because real state and home staging trends change all of the time, and as a professional home stager, I must know what my clients need and expect in order to prepare their homes for sale.
With our knowledge in real estate, design, and construction we offer our clients a higher level of staging services. Instead of simply offering staging consultations, I am able to look at how the home could reach its fullest potential if renovations are required, no matter how minor they may be.
I am very proud of our company. In a short period, we have received numerous awards and recognition for our staging projects, from the photographs to the style to our customer service and satisfaction. Also, another accomplishment that I very proud of is how we operate our company. We are a very lean and mean company meaning we have a small staff with a specific set of ethics and core values. We are able to apply those core values to everything we do which gives us a clear path of where we came from, where we are going, and how we will get there.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I absolutely love Houston. I have lived in different parts of Houston my entire life, from Northwest Suburbs like Spring and The Woodlands, to inner city like West University and West Chase District, to far North communities like Montgomery and Conroe. Each area around Houston is so different. We have a bustling real estate market, a variety of international cuisine unlike anywhere I have traveled, and the southern hospitality is unmatched! Also, we have some amazing parks and outdoor entertainment areas that are awesome for families and kids. My daughter loves to explore new parks so this is a must for our family.
I’d have to say that my least favorite part of Houston is the weather. We really don’t have all four seasons… it’s more like we have summer and cold front season. And hurricanes are at the top of my list of dislikes.
