Today we’d like to introduce you to Asma Siddiqi.
Hi Asma, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Asma and I live in Richmond TX, with my husband and three beautiful children. I was born in Pakistan and moved to the United States in 2000.
I have always had an interest in arts & crafts, and even studied Fine Arts in college. After years of struggling to find thoughtful gifts for various occasions, I realized there was a need for something that is both unique and affordable. With encouragement from my husband and children, I created my first basket for Teachers’ Appreciation Day three years ago. That same day, I started a Facebook page and posted a picture of my basket. When I woke up the next morning, I was surprised to receive an inquiry for my first order. Before I knew it, I had received over 30 orders for Teachers’ Appreciation Day at the local elementary school. Soon after, people started inquiring about Mother’s Day, birthdays, Eid and Ramadan (Muslim holidays), and various other occasions. I was completely overwhelmed and utterly shocked by the response. I started receiving words of encouragement and appreciation from both gift senders and recipients.
Over the last three years, my business has continued to grow beyond my expectations. We have received inquiries from all over the world and have shipped customized gifts to clients all over the U.S. Social media sites like Facebook and Instagram, as well as word of mouth from satisfied customers, have helped me get to where I am today, so much so that we were completely sold out of our designs during the last three holidays.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part it has been a smooth ride but we have had our share of challenges along the way. From material shortages, last-minute requests, tight schedules to shipping hiccups, we have experienced it all. Due to delicate nature of our gift baskets, shipping and delivery in perfect condition is always a challenge.

Since my business is focused on providing customized gifts, listening to my clients’ requirements and translating them into a gift that truly reflects their feeling is very important to me. I take pride in the fact that people trust me enough to be a part of their most special occasions. What sets my work apart from others is the attention to details, creativity and an absolute focus of listening to my customers.

Most people don’t know that besides my business, I also have great passion for cooking and home decorating.
