Today we’d like to introduce you to Aura Pereira.
Hi Aura , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Believe it or not, this all started with my pregnancy many years ago. During that time, people only talked about situations that scared me, they only talked about how horrible childbirth or breastfeeding was.
As a mom, this led me to feel fear but at the same time, it made me think: can this be the only way? As a sociologist, I questioned this behavior and beliefs of my environment, and I did research to go beyond these solutions. To my surprise, I found a wonderful world, which showed me that pregnancy is not a disease or something to be afraid of, at on the contrary, it is a great, uplifting experience that must be prepared with the right people to enjoy it to the fullest.
There, I began this path that led me to train as a doula in Venezuela and have the great opportunity to accompany many moms and dads to live beautiful pregnancy experiences, through workshops, accompanying births, as well as massive activities that impacted Venezuelan society in a positive way with the theme of respected childbirth and breastfeeding.
I was part of the ONGs in the country that worked for the rights of babies and mothers to a respected birth and loving breastfeeding, I had a radio program called “mama al día” to talk about conscious motherhood, family and important topics that seek to give families, especially to educate children, a more conscious and loving development.
These years strengthened me as a human being and gave me a lot of experience. For 3 years I have been in a new stage where I provide emotional support to women and mothers, with a therapy that I learned about as a doula, which are Bach flowers. And with it, today I have been able to support women who want to overcome difficult situations emotionally.
I love this job because it allows me to connect with other people, listen to them with patience and love, and help them navigate their emotional situations more calmly. Bach flowers is a therapy created by Dr. Edward Bach in the 1930s in England, who was convinced that emotional well-being was the key to general health. Bach flowers today are still an alternative therapy that continues to transform lives.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think the most difficult thing has been to maintain the commitment to continue growing as a person and continue to train myself. I consider that working for the emotional well-being of others is impossible, if you do not take time to continue getting to know yourself and move forward on your weak sides. For 15 years, I have started this path, I am surprised at how much I have personally advanced since I started as a prenatal educator and later, all the stages I have reached. I would definitely not exchange for anything these hard and beautiful experiences that have built my path, because today I have a lot of experience to support those who need me.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Bienestar con Aura?
“Bienestar con aura” is a new initiative that was born from the pandemic. For 12 years, I carried the brand “Mamá al día” in Venezuela, through which I provided prenatal and postnatal workshops, classes on the empowerment of women and the family, activities and events dedicated to the family and a radio program that was heard in several states of the country. Since the pandemic arrived, many fears and emotional situations affected everyone, but in particular the public of my project “Mamá al día”, the moms, who had a very strong pressure, after they spent so much time at home fulfilling the role of teachers, psychologists, caregivers and more, and also, having to deal with the intense emotions of the situation, both of themselves and their children and husbands, facing even the death of relatives or partners, responding to the demands of online classes, working from home, in short, was a very strong situation.
All this caused an emotional collapse in many of them and they wrote me to give them consultation with the Bach flowers, this recurrence made me see, that there was a need that the public of “Mama al día” was manifesting, and that is how I opened in parallel “Bienestar con Aura” a space in Spanish, where I talk about issues of personal growth and emotional well-being, and I assist women who wants to start a job with Bach flowers to handle some personal situation.
At the moment, my audience has been Latino/ spanish speakers, since my main language is Spanish, however, in the medium term future I also hope to serve people in English.
This change has provided me many personal satisfactions, the same experience that I developed over 15 years, has allowed me to know in depth the complexities of motherhood and feminine thinking, the development of children and adolescents, so every time I talk to a woman or mother in consultation or through online workshops, I see his advances, and that inspires me and makes me fall in love with my work.
Many of us do not have safe spaces to open their heart. On the space I provide, many moms find that safe that allows her to expand her gaze and advance in her emotional challenges. Bach flowers being completely natural and indicated for both adults, children and pets, is a complementary therapy that works emotions, for example, where there is fear works confidence, where there is sadness works joy, and so with the 38 emotions that represents the 38 flowers of the floral system.
From “Bienestar con Aura” I provide consultations of Bach flower therapy, workshops, podcast among other valuable content. I have trained as a sociologist, doula, Bach flower therapist among other formations.
Services:
- Bach Flower Therapy Consultation
- Online wellness workshops
How do you define success?
For me success is to achieve your own emotional tranquility, like many of us, I have achieved the great goals imposed on us by society, I have two university careers, a master’s degree and an infinity of training and diplomas, but all this does not define me as a person. After I had to migrate and leave all my material achievements and start from scratch in this country, my mind changed completely. My emotional peace of mind is the most important thing right now and that has allowed me to adapt quickly to changes.
