Meet Avery Scott of Viewsfromaavo in Central

Today we’d like to introduce you to Avery Scott.

Avery, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It all started when I was in college at Prairie View A&M University. My Mentor, Ryan Harris, invited me to a Private event at Jet Linx Houston, a private hangar for jets, helicopters, and airplanes. While there, I was posting on all my social media platforms about the event. Immediately, my feed started blowing up with likes, comments and people messaging me asking where was I at, what was I doing there, how was the event and how can I get an invite next time. After a year of going to these type of events and building connections with venue holders, event hosts and attendees, I created my website to answer all the questions that people would ask me. I also turned all my social media platforms into professional accounts and tailored them to fit my website.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been far from a smooth road, but I believe that comes with being an entrepreneur. Since starting, I learned nothing is perfect, I can not do it all and perseverance is everything. For example, there have been times I will work on a post over and over again just to get it right. I also learned to ask for help and I now have a Collaborator Caress Houston who is my right hand. She attends events to post on social media platforms and help write posts. We make a two-man team look like a full production studio. Sometimes, it can be a lot but I have to stay strong if I want my website to grow. I still work a full-time job and run my site. There have been days I have been up at 7 am get off at 4 pm make it to the first event at 5 pm finish around 8:45 pm make the next event at 9:10 pm leave around 2:30 or 3 am just to be up at 7 am for work.

Please tell us about Viewsfromaavo.
Viewsfromaavo is about exploring the life of luxury through common eyes. We provide brand exposure by giving an inside look of Houston’s Food & Drink Events, Fashion Shows, Car Unveiling’s, Magazine Launches, Movie Screenings, and Exclusive Parties. We provide social media coverage to our followers by posting before, during and after the event. We also provide a written review on our personal site as well. We are known for our website reviews and Instagram posts. What sets us apart is we believe in exclusivity yet diverse inclusivity. A lot of these events catered to a certain demographic we simply expanded the reach of each event.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
First, I would have started sooner, I had to cancel out all the negative thoughts in my head. I was wondering what if nobody visits my page or worse, leaves negative comments. Next, I would reach out to others for help and advice quicker. I credit a lot of my success to the people I have surrounded myself around and can call upon for help. Lastly trusting the process in the beginning. I did a lot of free work when I started just to get my name out there.
