Meet Bankè Mayòwa of Mayòwa Visuals

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bankè Mayòwa.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began my career in visual media through modeling. I started modeling my senior year of high school (about 5 years ago) as a small thing but it ended up bringing me more joy than I anticipated. I realized through the years that I enjoy being a part of people’s visions. That eventually took me to creative directing. I discovered that I enjoy the organizational aspect of photoshoots just as much as I like being in front of the camera.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road hasn’t been comfortable but it has been smooth. Through prayer and trusting my intuition/discernment I’ve found success. My prayer is that whatever decision I choose to make, God allows it to work out for my good. Through having that mindset, I’ve been able to find some form of peace at every point of my journey.

As you know, we’re big fans of Mayòwa Visuals. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Mayòwa Visuals is where I provide all my creative services. My goal is to use all the things I’ve learned through my years working in visual media to help brands, individuals and businesses create successful content. I specialize in photography at the moment so I help plan and execute photoshoots. Through my time in the field, I discovered the importance of having a good team. On a set, the energy of everyone is very important in order to get the best possible results. I take a lot of time to make sure I’m scouting for the right people to be a part of my client’s teams, as well as make sure to manage the flow of the set on shoot day. What sets me apart is, my ability to work with different personalities. I am good at communicating, as well as, creating solutions for any problem that may arise. What I’m most proud of brand wise is, the consistency I’ve had towards building my brand to where I want it to go. The journey hasn’t been easy but opportunities like these (being interviewed for you, Voyage) remind me that my work is paying off. And I’m moving in the right direction.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can find all my information and work on my Instagram (@mayowavisuals). I’m currently taking bookings, so my services and portfolio can also be found on the link in my Instagram bio. I hope to make some form of a platform so people can donate and help me with the expansion of my brand soon. All that will also be able to be found on the link in my Instagram bio as soon as I open that up!
