Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon and Nicole White.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We are Brandon and Nicole White, the owners of BienVenue Events. We are both Army Veterans and have traveled and lived all over, but decided to settle down in Houston with our three children several years ago. When we’re not busy with running our business, working full-time and going to school, we enjoy watching our kids play in their numerous sports at the local high school and spending time with our family and friends.
Our journey into entrepreneurship started with several years of reading, learning and dreaming before diving into the event venue space. In early 2020, we decided to take a leap of faith after much consideration before we were met with our first challenge, the pandemic. Despite the uncharted territory, we decided to continue our venture and we’re so glad we did. BienVenue Events officially opened in October 2020 and we haven’t looked back since. The love and support from our community has been tremendous and we are eternally gratefully.
We are extremely excited to bring a venue where people can celebrate, collaborate, entertain and network to the NE/Lake Houston Area. In the coming years, follow us on our journey as we continue to grow the BienVenue Events brand!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
All things considered, it has been relatively smooth. We are believers in the power of a positive mindset so we try to see every challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow. The pandemic definitely slowed our location search and construction but also forced us to hone in on our business plan and execution.
We were also challenged with the rigors of life; raising a family, finishing a degree and working full-time all take up a significant amount of our time so we have to be diligent with the time that we do have. I don’t think we’re perfect by any stretch of the imagination but we’ve found ways to successfully operate our business and juggle the rest of life’s demands. One thing we’ve learned for sure is that there is always work to be done to provide our clients with the best event experience possible while operating the business efficiently.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
BienVenue Events is an 1800 square feet modern/industrial event venue that can host any event you can dream up. Our open concept and blank canvas allow our clients to truly transform our space into the perfect place for their event. We’re known for the vendor pop-up shops, birthday/quincenearas and micro-weddings! In the near future, we hope to host more concerts, comedy shows and open mic nights.
We’re most proud of the community that we’re helping to connect and build. We’ve had the opportunity to work with several veteran and black-owned businesses like ourselves, which is truly rewarding. We also work very hard to try and provide exceptional client service to each potential customer that we come in contact with.
At BienVenue we provide several amenities and event packages. Our amenities include tables, chairs, surround sound, wifi, projector and outdoor patio. Additional services include linen, event planning and day of coordination. Our venue can hold 100 people seated.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
We think it’s tough to predict where the industry as a whole will trend post-pandemic but we do think there will be continued growth as the country opens back up. Micro-weddings have been big as folks deal with trying to hold key life events during this time so we’d expect that to continue in the near future.
We’d also expect to see continued interest in popup shops and other small business-related events as folks venture out to secure their own economic stability through entrepreneurship. Over the next decade, we expect that data and technology will continue to become more widely available and whomever is able to take advantage of both will have the greatest chance for success.
