Meet Cindy Martin of Break A Leg Staging in Galleria Area and Uptown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cindy Martin.

Cindy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Initially, I lived in Los Angeles where I was a working actress in the entertainment industry. I had success in a well know TV series, some film work, top commercial and a music video. I missed Texas and LA wasn’t particularly giving me what I needed, so returned.

During my stardom days and primarily when returning, I have been involved and investing in residential real estate for 20+ years. Within that time I did acquire my Real Estate license but was not really interested in working under a brokerage. I understand the ins and outs of the buy and sell process and appreciate the fact that it’s not just property people are vested in, it is their home.

In my down time my passion of creativity is design. I am a detail oriented person so when I walk into a room I don’t see a room with just furniture, I see the room and contents as a package. I love mixing unassuming furnishings together that would otherwise not be thought of. I love the challenge of putting furnishings and arranging them together in a way they makes them belong.

Having a Home Staging and Design firm allows me to use my Real Estate investing background with my creative side and love for people together.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s actually been pretty smooth. The biggest challenges are the works behind the scene. From setting up a business and making it presentable to the public to bidding on large projects to stage a multi-million dollar vacant home. If I don’t work smart behind the sense then I don’t get to do what I love, decorating. Like any business, initially getting out there ensuring and hoping our clients will trust that we will make their home outshine the others in such a competitive market.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Break A Leg Staging is a Home Staging and Design firm. We specialize in interior perfection. We stage homes that are going on the market to sell, either while occupied, rearranging the homes content, or bringing in our collection of furnishings to get the home sold for top dollar.

We also provide a move-in and set-up service. We can meet the movers and arrange the furnishings to fit within the space and architectural layout of the home. We can also purchase any furniture, and decor that may be needed. Our client can basically sit back without lifting a finger and we will get their place live-in ready. For those that just want a new fresh look without the move, we can handle that as well by painting rooms, updating an old look, and re arranging furniture our client already has.

We are known for our commitment to working as a team to produce desired results and really working with our customers’ needs. We have received compliments for being extremely personable and stretching the clients’ dollar for their maximum gain.

I’m most proud when I know I had a part in making a happy client. Having a client feel good about having our firm come into their space and enhance their home. That is a win-win for everyone involved. I believe in client relationships and understanding no two situations are alike. Angela and I strive to provide positive experiences and outperform our clients’ expectations.

What were you like growing up?
I am the youngest of three growing up in Bryan/College Station. I had to share a room with my sister of whom was a little messier than me. I was constantly re-organizing and changing my side of the room. There was never a doubt that there was an invisible line down the middle. I did the same to the home, friend’s rooms, and people I would babysit for. I was the artsy one in the family always decorating the play forts, designing furniture and making clothes for my dolls.

I am quite competitive as well and love playing sports. I am a bit of an overachiever. I believe we should all strive to make today better than yesterday. My free time, I enjoy spending with my 2 children, Kayne (8) and Sloane (5).
