Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Keith.
Brian, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always had a passion for Event Planning. I just didn’t know it until the age of 30 years old. As a child I would help my parents with the planning process of my birthdays. I would tell them what entertainment I wanted, the type of cake I desired and all the way down to the activities and guest list. This started around the age of 5 years old. Because I was the youngest, my parents just thought I was a bossy kid. This carried on throughout my life assisting with the planning process of my parties. At the age of 18 years old, I was asked by a friend to help with her wedding. I actually thought she had lost it, me help with a wedding, LOL. Well, I not only helped her plan, I also decorated her wedding for her. And at that moment I felt a passion for the event industry. I ended up going to college studying Information Technology and staying with one of the most prestigious Oil & Gas companies for 15 years. In between my tenure working in Oil & Gas, I started my Event Planning & Design company back in 2008
Once I started my business in Event Planning, I finally felt fulfilled and happy in my career. Even though, I was working my business part-time until 2014, I put a lot of hard work and attention into my business over the years. BKP is known for creating experiences for clients such as: Quad Webb-Lunceford; Bravo TV Married to Medicine, Tami Roman; VH1 Basketball Wives, CleRenda McGrady; Author, Vivica A. Fox; Actress/Producer, Lee Daniels; Film Producer, NeNe Leakes; Bravo TV Housewives of Atlanta, Direct Energy, Fidelity National Title Agency, Yolanda Adams; Gospel Recording Artist, Russell Okung; NFL Offensive Tackle, Porsha Williams; Bravo TV Housewives of Atlanta, Kat St. John; National Recording Artist amongst other’s.
Working with Bravo TV Real Housewives of Atlanta Session 10, has been one of my most exciting moments. Being able to meet so many great people and share your creativity with millions of people, is a wonderful feeling. I wouldn’t have been able to get this far in my business or career, without much prayer, hard work, great supporters, friends and family. Most of all my team that has worked hard alongside me. It’s so much more in store for me and my company in 2018, can’t wait to share when the time is right!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Transitioning from working in Corporate America, to becoming a full time business owner had its struggles. In the beginning its learning how to budget better and learning how to make better life decisions. When I speak with other business owners, I always tell them to have a savings and go into business with no debt. I’ve definitely made some bad decisions which brought on challenges, but without challenges how do you expect to grow bigger and stronger.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Brian Keith Productions story. Tell us more about the business.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t really believe in “luck”. I believe that when you align yourself with a higher power, God, the universe or however you like to look at it, you meet your divine opportunity in life.
