Meet Brittany Cooper of Marie Designs in Galleria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Cooper.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My journey started at a young age in the arts, where I became involved  through art, theater, dance and design growing up. I decided to move my talents to Los Angeles where I interned with a “BlackTree Tv” a media company and booked several modeling gigs. Traveling from Houston to LA I somehow found my inspiration within modern rentals. I became fascinated with the colors and decor of the spaces where I started out decorating for close friends and family.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My early challenges have been through trial and error of learning the business. Deadlines, budgeting, contracts and time management were all things I’ve learned over time. I learned to become more organized, concentrating on a project. However, with my experiences, I’m now able to tackle multiple clients. I work well under pressure. Staying current with the latest trends and styles.  I’m into vibes and energy with any home I move into. I do a lot of spiritual cleansing. Your home should be a sacred place for good energy; which flows with the colors you choose. My passion has occurred from helping clients create a space that is sufficient for their mind, body and soul. Every client is different, however the challenge is always persuading the couple to agree on the same design.

Marie Designs – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Marie Designs is my baby, brand and business. Marie comes from my middle name, alter ego which stems from most of my creativity. I’m an interior designer who services homeowners, builders, realtors and rentals. I specialize in interior decorating, staging, rentals and kitchen/ bathroom selections.  High Fashion Home, is where I gained a ton of experience learning textiles and furnishings. As well as The Art Institute, which taught me so much about presenting and vision boards. I was able to assist well-known people in the industry with their office and home spaces. In addition, I was hired to work for furniture stores such as Zgallerie. Currently, I freelance for a few building company’s and work for HomeAdvisor where I work for homeowners, assisting with staging, bathroom renovations, art selections and interior decor. In addition, my designer profile is showcased on Realtors.com and homeimprovement.com to name a few. I have gained experience with Hearthstone Homes and Cohen Management being the Senior Interior Designer, assisting with the materials in flooring, light fixtures, countertops and furniture. In addition, my Air Bnb clients was resulted in a great review! I demonstrate modern living for home decor and staging, catered to any specific needs. I am well connected in the industry, which makes my business helpful to market.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment would be staging an Air Bnb rental, three story townhome in downtown Houston. I had three floors to furnish, including the client’s furnishings I had to combine. This was a two weeks minimum which had to be done under budget. My client was so pleased with the space, his rental booked for the entire month ahead and had great reviews!
