Meet Cade Blodgett of prodbycade in Southwest Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cade Blodgett.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Cade. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
Well, I have always been into music my whole life it feels like, but I didn’t grow up in a musical family or anything like that. I am a senior in high school, and I have been making beats for about a year to a year and a half. The thing is with me is that there was no “light bulb moment” or anything like that got me into producing; I just slowly fell in love with it. I remember before I actually started producing I would watch videos of Southside of 808 Mafia cooking up beats on his Instagram live stream or on periscope and before I knew it, hours would go by. Where I am today is nothing I like to talk about because I am always focused on how much better I’m going to do the next day and the next, etc..

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There were definitely some struggles. At first, my family wasn’t super supportive of what I was doing, but now that they have seen my talent, things have changed, and they support me 100%. For probably the first six months of producing, I always never thought I could make it big or anything like that, so I definitely struggled with having motivation and confidence.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I am a 17 yr old music producer in Houston, Texas. I make beats and send them to an artist so they can use them for their tracks. I get paid for my beats and sell all my beats on my tracktrain account. Tracktrain is a website used by almost all producers for selling their beats. What I am proud of also is what sets me apart, and that is my work ethic.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
None. Anything I got I earned by myself with no help.
