Meet Carl Walker Jr. of Simply Honest Mobile Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carl Walker Jr.

Carl, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started out working in the IT field as a young adult. Even as a child I was very inquisitive or a techie, for lack of a better word. For some reason, I found serenity in solving problems and fixing things. With that being said, I believe that I have always possessed an entrepreneurial spirit, an innate desire to create something, to serve or give back. But like most people in life, my life is riddled with setbacks and do-overs.

Fortunately, for me, I was born and raised in a great city that is known for overcoming great obstacles. Although my company is very young, we work very hard and very diligently to provide the best services that we can for the people in our city. My transition from IT to incorporating mobile device repair into my skill-set was a journey that I decided to take as a result of the increasing demand for mobile device repairs. I found myself getting many inquiries to repair mobile devices and decided to look for and enroll in a course to repair mobile devices at the Texas School of Continuing Education and Recruitment. The course at this institution is one of the many courses that I took to become certified to repair mobile devices.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road by any stretch of the imagination. I think one of the biggest obstacles has been believing in myself. To make the leap from the safety of a 9-5 job to actually becoming my own boss was a huge step. In light of that, I had many other obstacles such as financially being able to sustain the business, such as marketing, and growing the business the way that I would like it to grow.

A challenge of being an entrepreneur is always keeping an upbeat and positive attitude, As the boss, you are always worried about making sure that you do not let your employees down. The employees are looking for you to keep things going and that in itself is overwhelming. Another challenge is always keeping a positive attitude. Things are not always positive and sometimes I do not always know which way is up. However, I continue to be highly favored and blessed and the opportunity to be in this publication is one of the blessings. I think that it’s my unwillingness to quit and my belief in something greater than myself, that make me persevere.

Simply Honest Mobile Services is the solution to all of your mobile device repair needs. We repair all makes and models of mobile phones and tablets. We also offer some computer related services. We provide a service that works within the customer’s busy schedule because we go to them anywhere, home or office or even the local Starbucks from as early as 6 am to 11 pm at night.

Nowadays, everyone walks around with their most important information on their mobile devices. When we repair a device we complete the repair right in front of the customer instead of in a back room somewhere, therefore, the client does not have to worry about their privacy being compromised. They also have the opportunity to see us complete the work and see the quality of the parts that are being used on their devices. In rare cases, we have to take the phone away for further diagnostics, but even then the client is kept abreast of the status of their repair at all times.

We are known for our prompt and professional service. We also explain to our clients what is going on with their devices in a way they can understand. I am most proud of the fact that we offer a fair price and we are focused more on quality than quantity. We make relationships and we will leave everyone satisfied and pleased with our services.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Hopefully, in the not so distant future, we would like to have a physical location that will cater to the client that wants to drop off their device. We want to be able to provide more services to our clients. We would still provide the mobile service, however, by having the convenience of the drop-off, would greatly increase business. Currently, we service Houston and the surrounding areas such as Kingwood, The Woodlands, Sugar Land, Pasadena, and Clear Lake.

We are always looking to expand our reach. I believe that by having a central location for the staff to work in, allows everyone to take part in our purpose which is to provide the highest quality service possible. It is our responsibility as your solution to mobile device repair to make sure that our staff is well trained and they are equipped with the proper tools to ensure your investment is running optimally at all times.
