Today we’d like to introduce you to Carol Greaves-Moore.
Carol, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 1995, I had completed the required hours to obtain my cosmetology license while attending high school. I was absolutely thrilled at my accomplishment and was excited to take the Texas State Cosmetologist Licensing exam and pass. After obtaining my Cosmetologist License, I had worked in a total of three salons over the span of 20 years and quickly realized the industry had its wonderful moments –when business was at its peak and the industry had its hard times –when business was in the valleys (scarce customers).
During those down times, I realized what I had enjoyed about cosmetology. All though, I had always enjoyed providing my clients with a great experience from shampooing their hair to showing them the end results in the mirror –that was not it! I really enjoyed educating my clients on the hair health, body health and the variety of steps to make their life happier because overall wellness matters. We must take care of ourselves from the inside-out.
This new-found realization, help me form Hair Plus Body Products LLC on September 2, 2019. My store provides products for hair, skin, nails, essential oils, jewelry and customized products for specific needs such as hair growth serum, pillow mist to aid with sleep and so much more. I can receive information from individuals that complete the online customer survey form/intake form, research their specific needs and provide them with a list of suggestions that are specifically for them. It is a great feeling to hear joy from the people that see results from using their customized products.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
During my journey the road has been wonderful, and it has been a struggle. It is easy to talk about the wonderful moments because those moments either meant my financial needs were met and there was a surplus or overall everything fell into place. However, there were many struggling moments. I wanted to give up! I had struggles with the following: (1) my mindset –I wondered if I should be starting a niche store. I thought there were too many stores and products flooding the market. (2) my discipline –I had a problem with being consistent with my tasks and goals; especially the long-term goals because they were so distant and at time appeared unattainable. (3) my support system – I experienced having someone close to me become distant when I shared my goals and aspirations. They did not provide the support or encouragement towards my passion and that hurt deeply. All three struggles caused me to procrastinate, lose hope in myself and my desire to accomplish my goals. I went through an intense period between 3-5 years of depression. I did not know if I was important or if what I do would even matter. It took time of receiving counseling, encouraging myself, redefining relationships around me, most importantly redefining how I thought about myself and my goals that led me to become a stronger person and growing stronger with each passing day.

Hair Plus Body Products is an online company that provides a variety of products ranging from jewelry, products for the hair & body, essential oils and carrier oils, consultative services aimed to research what an individual may need then tailor products specific to the individual needs.
I research the information from the Client Intake Forms then tailored products along with written suggestions for each individual containing suggestions for their concerns and step them through the process of achieving their desired results. I specialize in research–meaning, I find out the current details of the individual’s habits on their products and habits then help form new healthier habits.
I am known for my love for helping others and giving others the best I have to offer. I believe in a phrase I coined, If We All Give Then We ALL Will Receive. I am most proud that I have an opportunity to share my knowledge and passion of health and beauty with others who are willing to receive it.
I can boldly state, Hair Plus Body Products is set apart from others because of the proactive approach to providing customers with tailored products for their needs and acting as an accountability partner helping individuals see their desired results. This is not solely an online store; we are proactive with our customers/clients.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
The plans are exciting! In Q1/Q2 2020, we will start a scientific research for individual’s concerns allowing them to receive a deeper view into their current state of their concerns. Also, we will be partnering with individuals from Christian counseling, the medical profession and nutritionist to help those individuals who are willing form new habits from the inside-out! More details are coming very soon!
