Meet Charles Weiss

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charles Weiss.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
As a child, my parents took me to visit art museums in Richmond, VA and Washington, DC. I have vivid memories of noticing and appreciating the stark differences between the Renaissance Masterworks and the new on the scene Pop art of Warhol, Lichtenstein and others. This is something that decades later, still impacts the core of who I am as an artist.

Please tell us about your art.
My work continues to evolve from realism to abstract, with my mediums ranging from acrylic paint as well as enamel and latex house paint, I have deemed my style as Industrial Abstract. I paint to music from classical to hard rock and hip hop. While many of the paintings are edgy in color or style, collectors have noted their ability to anchor a room’s decor. My paintings are found in a multitude of places from contemporary corporate offices to traditional living rooms.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
High quality gallery exposure to buyers and collectors. Setting appointments with gallery owners to show your work can be challenging.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
My work can be viewed on Facebook and Instagram at Charles Weiss Art or at charlesweissart.NET. I am in the final stages of opening a gallery in the EADO area of Houston, TX. If interested in being added to our mailing list, please email me at charlesweissart@att.net with your name and mailing address.
