Meet Chaveria Williams of Vera Loo Presents

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chaveria Williams.

Hi Chaveria, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Vera Loo Presents is a Heritage brand, inherited from stories about my great grandmother Luscendie making soap for her ten children in Mansville Lousiana from my Grandmother. I put a spin on the timeless skill and chose to cater to those suffering from troubled skin. Having these issues doesn’t have to be boring. I couple my knowledge and experience as a healthcare professional with a love of magic, and you now have Vera Loo Presents.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Absolutely not. It all begin in 2017, and I spoke on this in my first interview with Voyage. Since then I experienced two traumatic losses. One is my mother, and the second is my only brother within five months of each other who changed my life forever and how I approach business moving forward.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I consider myself a creative entrepreneur. My background is in the arts, performing arts. My skillset/professional experience is in healthcare and business. There’s a lot to juggle there, but it all is expressed via Vera Loo Presents.

On the surface, I make soap and body care products. The big picture is, Vera Loo Presents is a magical brand that offers a curated customer experience. What sets VLP apart is the community of customers and supporters. The damn good soap recipes that heal and nourish the skin, and being a clean brand. From the ingredients to the packaging, VLP is doing the work.

I think I’m known for big ideas and being resourceful. What I’m most proud of beyond what I mentioned in the first interview is the fact that I haven’t quit. Almost everything I mentioned in the first interview has come to fruition even with the break. Every day, I get to do something that brings my vision closer to reality. It’s a blessing.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
The only advice I feel I can give is to lead with your heart. Lead your vision, your team, your projects with heart. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be guided by data, technique, rule of thumb, or wisdom. But we’re all in the people business, infuse compassion.
