Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris N. West.
Chris, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I held a marketing position at Google where we presented tips to businesses. I became interested and wanted to do this full time through my own business. In 2014, I started a company providing corporate training and professional speaking services. So far, I have presented in 46 states along with cities outside the UnitedStates. Started out by offering services to small businesses, and then eventually began providing marketing tips to larger companies. Being able to help organizations move forward with their online goals was a big motivator.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The main struggles were the actual transition from working full time to business ownership. Early on, I was not sure of what to focus on in order to get customers. Business has many moving parts and I learned that where you spend your time is crucial to the success. Working on the business on the side is really helpful in order to find out if what you’re doing will work. Knowing your expenses and the potential revenue of the business is really important.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with LR Training – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Through my company, I work with an organization that wants to utilize online marketing and team collaboration to increase revenue. LR Training Inc. provides services including onsite training and speaking on topics such as digital marketing, search engine optimization, and analytics. Many marketing and business teams have been able to grow online and increase Google rankings after consulting and training. Recently, I was accepted into National Speakers Association based on the number of paid presentations. Joining organizations that help from a business standpoint was helpful since a major portion of the revenue comes from speaking. Most of the services are custom to the customer so companies feel like they are getting a great deal.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan on making services available to more organizations in a target audience. I feel that focusing on fewer services can be more beneficial than having too much going on. I also plan to better help current customers.
