Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Greene.
Houston native, Christina, launched her collection in 2011 to bring a fresh and distinct perspective to jewelry design. While studying at Parsons in NYC, Christina was able to work closely with top tier designers who encouraged her to create the beautiful collections she has today.
Her love for travel and her proclivity to explore and learn more about different lifestyles have inspired every collection, each one reflective of her travels around the globe.
Every piece is designed in studio in Houston, TX and handmade by a team of skilled artisans in Jaipur, India. Her collections highlight the beauty of natural stones from all over the world.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Corresponding with international clients and vendors. As opposed to working with domestic vendors, doing business with another country, such as India, has had its challenges. Not only do you have the challenge of a language barrier and time difference but you also have to become accustomed to the different work practices and culture. After visiting several different manufactures in India, I was lucky to find someone who understands my designs and quality control. This past summer marks the 4th trip to Jaipur, India and I have found visiting our team each year has proved to be a successful way to overcome the challenges associated with working with international companies.
What’s one mistake you made and what did you learn from it?
Over committing. As a young entrepreneur, the hardest word is no. Every opportunity I was given the answer was always yes, yes, yes! But sometimes you have to weigh the pros and cons of each and prioritize, especially when there is a budget involved.
Within the last 4 years, I have learned not to jump at every opportunity that is given to me. This doesn’t mean I still don’t say yes but I’ve definitely gotten better at it.

Based in Houston, Texas, Christina Greene LLC was founded in 2011 by Christina Greene, a graduate of Texas Christian University and Parsons School of Design in New York. Inspired by travels near and far, Christina launched her unique, upscale collection of artisan-crafted jewelry to bring a fresh perspective to jewelry design.
A one-of-a-kind collection, the Christina Greene jewelry line highlights the beauty of natural stones from all over the world. Each piece is designed in the company’s Houston, Texas studio and is crafted by a team of skilled artisans in Jaipur, India. Genuine semi-precious stones and 18K gold plating over hypoallergenic and nickel-free brass are just some of the high-quality hallmarks that go into Christina Greene jewelry.
The company’s roots date back to 2010 when Christina started hand-making her own jewelry by pairing stone beads such as turquoise, amethyst, citrine and coral with gold plated chains purchased from local jewelry supply shows. She got her first big break at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo when a woman loved one of her necklaces so much, that she purchased it right off of Christina’s neck. Today, what started out as sketches in drawing pads has become a successful jewelry collection retailing in over 40 boutiques worldwide
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success based on customer satisfaction. When I walk into a room and see women wearing my jewelry and even those that don’t know me, brings joy and a feeling of accomplishment and success to my heart.
Success is also defined to me as happiness and loving the work that I do. Money might mean success to some but money doesn’t always bring happiness.
