Meet Christina Salazar of Life Without Limits in Southeast

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Salazar.

Christina, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started this company when my life was in downward spiral and I. It sounds crazy I know. I had two had just been in two really bad relationships and my weight was at 278. I had just gotten out of the hospital and was diagnosed with diverticulitis. I was told to consult with my primary care physician which showed I was pre-diabetic, high cholesterol and high blood pressure.

I come from a family with a long medical history heart disease, high cholesterol, stroke, triple bypass, diabetes, dialysis really everything I was diagnosed with that was leading me in that direction. As a single mom, I worried who would be around for my son if I let my health get out of hand. This is what lead me to start my health journey. I started working with a coach and she helped me. I was 40 lbs down and she asked me if I ever considered being a coach. Fitness is something I loved before I became a mom and I let it get away from me. So I started focusing on learning meal plans and getting certified as a mentor. I started sharing my journey and it has been the best decision I have made.

When I started this business, I was in such a bad place and learning how to change my mindset and learning to love myself it becomes contagious want others to know they aren’t alone and can ask for help without being judged. If they have a bad day they can check-in and we can focus on getting back on track. Medication isn’t always the answer one pill leads to two and so on and my goal is to show others there is a way to get back your health.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road. I am a single mom I had just been in really bad relationship that left my son and I without a home. I work a 10hr job with a one hour commute each way. I couldn’t afford rent I was living my family. I had to work my way back up after being a home mom for four years. It still isn’t easy as a mom my time is divided as I said I work a long hours I come home do homework with my son and spend time with him before I start working my business. I spend the last few hours of my long day showing others it can be done and motivating others who need the push that I once needed.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Life Without Limits story. Tell us more about the business.
I am an accountability coach. What I do is motivate others to get healthy and stay on a healthy path. Being Healthy isn’t just about working out. It’s so much more. I teach others how to create a meal plan and how important personal development part of being able to stay on the journey is loving yourself something that isn’t easy. What makes me proud of this business is this isn’t something I just woke up and said this is what I want to do. This is something that I struggled with and struggle with daily so everything I teach I have been through and I know what I teach isn’t impossible. I think what sets me apart is I’m not a gym and I am not going to bring you into a workout and just leave you. I will work with team members and be there if they need me to cheer them on, help with meal plans or workout with them. If they need a daily check-in, weekly check-in or just a call when they are struggling, I want to be that motivation they need. I know the daily struggles I know what it’s like to be overweight to have all those embarrassing moments that come with being overweight and I think that is what sets me apart the most.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I think now I don’t believe in luck. Everything I have worked for it is because I set excuses aside. I think when we learn to set our excuses aside and work towards our goals, everything falls into place.
