Meet Courtney Glaude, Writer/Director and Producer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Glaude.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Courtney. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised in the 5th ward, Trinity Garden area in Houston, Texas. Early in life, my mom was struggling with an addiction and my dad was in jail. My mother went to jail as well and my grandmother was a huge help to my mother at this time. When my mom got out she was physically abusive, so I was afraid of her. I also was picked on in school so I didn’t want to be there either. This sounds horrible but who would I be without this situation. Because I never wanted to be at home or school, I got really good at being in my head. Creating a world of my own. I truly believe God gave me the life he wanted me to have to become the man I am today. My faith and fasting have been the tip of the sword.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No. No one told me I could be a writer/director growing up. Everything that I know and have learned I went looking for the information. I didn’t go to college for this. I googled and studied and failed until I succeeded.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am a writer, director and producer. I create content for film and TV. I am most proud that I’m independently doing what major companies do. There are no limits to what we can do when we put our mind to it. And I believe this. Plus, no one can or will ever tell a story like I can. Lol!

What were you like growing up?
Weird. I stayed in the house and wrote a lot. Not shy but not the social butterfly.
