Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Richard.
Hi Courtney, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always had an interest in music, I love singing, but I am too shy to be a performer and decided to look up jobs in the music business. My brother was in the music business at the time, and invited me to a music mixer one evening, I met so many important people that night, that I knew this was the business I wanted to work in. I decided to start an entertainment company, C Rich Entertainment and then the hardwork started.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When I started in the business, I had just given birth a few months ago, and was still breastfeeding my baby. I had no vehicle. Believe it or not I used to walk or ride the bus to meetings and my client’s shows. Nothing was going to stop me, no excuses!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
C Rich Entertainment was started about 10 years ago. I want to not only focus on managing and building brands in music but in all aspects of the entertainment industry.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love Houston because it’s a big city with a small-town feeling, everyone knows one another. There is always something going on. The only negative thing I have to say about Houston is the flooding here sucks!
