Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Bell.
Crystal, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my business in August 2018, by working three jobs to be able to fund the vision I had. The three positions I worked were lead at The Catch, overnight cashier at Randall’s, and seasonal cashier at Bath & Body Works. So, I literally worked every day from 9am-1am to make sure I could cover my bills and my dream. Once I was ready to make my dreams come true a lash vendor reached out to me. I was so excited everything turned out so well. So, months later I expanded a little bit more by adding lip gloss. The customers’ orders were twice as much as the lashes. I combined my business started doing popup shops back home in Louisiana. I loved all the support and ideas from everywhere. I expanded once more by adding makeup palettes and rebranding to “Came2SlayCo”.
My business is where it is today because of the faith I have with God, my mindset, & the customers support. I wouldn’t be where I am today if those reasons weren’t involved. I come from a family of eight, so it wasn’t always easy but my mom always made away and for that I have to work hard to show her I thank her for everything. And my business will one day be a big business.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
When running a business, it’s not always going to be a smooth road ahead. I faced a lot of struggles along the way. What I most struggled with was having friends and family support. Everybody would love to have both family and friends as their support system; but not always it happens that way. Another struggle was running the business independently. That was & has been the most struggle I’ve had/have. Doing everything is tiresome especially working three jobs along with trying to run your own business.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Came2SlayCo story. Tell us more about the business.
Came2Slay Cosmetics is not only a small business, but a business that supports other businesses. We want to make people feel better about themselves with our products. We specialize in beauty cosmetics. We are known for the long lashes, lip gloss, & make up looks. As a business we are most proud of helping others. What sets Came2Slay Cosmetics apart from others we are unique, fun, supportive, & love blessing others.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
The role of luck turned into a role of blessings for my life & business. It’ll be two years in August that my business is still flourishing; because I kept the faith as small as a mustard seed. And my luck was really my blessings coming in. When you right by people you’ll be blessed right.
