Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Day.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I would have to say my journey began with being inspired to be the best I could be from the people who stayed in my life and the one who didn’t. My drive was developed from watching my single mom sacrifice for the opportunities that I have now. My ambition came from watching my dad walk away and waiting around for him to come back. My mom’s drive has given me the strength I need to stay the course toward my destiny and my dad’s leaving and me waiting around has given me the ambition to never again sit around and wait for things to come to me. In coaching and teaching for the past 13 years, it has been my mission to be an example to young girls that no matter what they have experienced in their past getting them to understand they have the power to change their future. I challenge young girls to allow what they believe is their greatest setback to become a tool for their biggest come back. Then I remind them that the most important final step of their journey is once they discover their light to help another young lady discover her light.
In the summer of 2018, I was inspired by one of my former Track and Field athletes, Chelsea Taylor who is now my company’s logistic manager, to write a book. You never know how the seeds you have sown into other people can one day take a turn and become a seed for you. A Diva’s Guide to Success is a leadership development guide that was inspired by looking for new ways to grow my Girls Track Team confidence and leadership ability. I found myself searching year after year for that one great leader on my team and realized I have an opportunity to change each of their lives and develop a generation fierce leaders. I found that when you lead people to their purpose, give them effective tools of leadership, create platforms for goal setting, and equip them with tools of resiliency phenomenal leaders emerge. My continued mission is to provide coaching that will empower individuals, who will then empower communities, who will then empower the world by connecting them to their purpose.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our journey with Diva Day Consulting has been a true blessing. If I had to pinpoint our biggest struggle, it would have to be self-doubt and fear of the unknown sometimes. Did I bite off more than I can chew, is this idea too big, can I really pull this off? I have been fortunate to have a solid village of family and friends who have shown me my light when I couldn’t see it for myself.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I would have to say my proudest moments are when I have an opportunity to see a former student or athlete who is thriving in their adult lives and or expresses the impact my teaching or coaching has made in their lives there is a sense of pride I can’t seem to explain.
