Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Villarreal.
Daniel, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I began photography in 2011, it was a way to express my creativity other than drawing. I started like many others taking pictures with my phone camera. Eventually I was able to afford a DSLR. Until then I would do my cousins/friends makeup and buy them the wardrobe from thrifts to photograph them with a cheap camera I bought during black Friday. See my passion has always been fashion. My main focus is fashion, and everything revolves around it. Photography was the outlet that allowed my visions and creativity to take form. 2017, the experience I gained from photographing my cousin/friends gave me the courage to style models, creating actual Concepts, going out and taking photo shoots in public. That’s when I noticed a difference in my photos. They were no longer just another photograph, or a girl wearing a pretty dress. My photographs now had a pulse and have come to life through my love for fashion.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Personally to me, no matter how many bumps you have to take, it will be worth it if you love doing what you do. Regardless if at times the road seems endless, eventually one will find their destination.
Please tell us about your work.
I do both photography and videography. Euphorically fashionable is what sets me apart from others who just do fashion photography, and actually having a passion for fashion.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
It’s not much of a change because I was able to express my art. However, I hold back in fully expressing myself due to being perceived as weird or strange for being a male who likes Avant-garde and reading Vogue during lunch. To be a hundred percent yourself cause that will send you far.
