Meet Daniela Rena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Rena.

Daniela, so great to connect with you again. Looking forward to learning more of your story. Please kick things off for us.
A Model, Actress, Youtuber, and Social Media Personality who has generated a new wave for society.

On the previous article for Houston Voyage Magazine I gave my life story. This time I want to share my journey from then to now. It has been about six months and must I say, I am very proud to be at this point and hopefully even further by the time this article is released. From the beginning of this career, I told myself I would be as authentic as possible. And most definitely as open to my fan base and supporters as they allow me to be. I hit the ground running even harder than ever after I removed myself from an unhealthy abusive relationship. I told myself from the moment I left that I wouldn’t dare look back. I did just that. I was generated with uncertainty of rather I was going back into college to finish a law degree or continue with a career in entertainment. In my heart I loved school, but I wasn’t in love with it. I was in love with modeling and filming commercials. I knew in my heart since I was a young girl that my soul was destined for being an entertainer.

After my first article with HVM was released I had already begun this professional career and generated it. Little did I know that with all of the hard work that I have put into it, would it have brought all that it did. Everything from brand deals, to having an agent, to now working alongside actors we enjoy watching in our favorite films. I knew I would one day be there, but not in six months. It seemed to have happened fast, but I was always looking in the entertainment direction since I was that little girl. To me, this was a long time coming. I studied how artists treated their fans, studied their opinions on social inquiries, and most importantly how they carry themselves. I would attend their shows and watch how they look at their fans. Some of them I am friends with and I would watch their reactions on backlash. As one of them now, I remind myself everyday to not be like them. To love and appreciate everyone. To care. To give advice. To help. To motivate. To be MYSELF. I believe everyone around me sees and knows that. Just a few days ago, I filmed a commercial and clientele video for one of the largest computer companies in the world. I was myself and the production team and I got along very well. We all achieved a monumental moment together. What we took from that was not the money, not the status. It was the fact that we were ourselves and it took just that to achieve something bigger than us.

This journey so far has been the wildest ride ever. I’ve met some incredible people as well as finding myself. I started out as just modeling and landing a few commercials to now being an actress and businesswoman. Little did I know I would walk in Houston Fashion Week this season 2019. I believe I have created a new wave for others. A path that has not ever been created before. You can be Mexican American, 4’11 and walk runway. You can be from South Texas and land opportunities that seem so out of reach. You can speak your mind and create content for social media that help others through their daily lives. You can be relatable by being yourself. That is what I hope to continue to do throughout my career. I want to make a difference and I feel have. I have not ever been so open before nor will I allow anyone to shut that out. I am the change I wanted to see in the entertainment industry. I know in my heart that my lead is an authentic one. I am so blessed for everyone and everything around me. Without them and the hard work, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I love who I have become because she is herself.

Regardless of how many times that camera turns off and on. I am still the silly, happy Daniela that you know and see on television. Thank you Houston Voyage Magazine for giving me a platform once again. To my cousins by my side. You know who you are, thank you. To my supporters, thank you for letting me yell at the cars who drive extremely slow in front of me and laughing with me. Hahaha… Remember, be good to one another, be kind to one another, and love one another…because you never know what they’re going through.

Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been the smoothest road, but I found ways to get through those bumps in the road. At times when things aren’t great, I distract myself with work in a healthy way.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a model, actress, etc. What sets me apart from others is my authenticity. Every part of me physically, emotionally and mentally, I am myself and I don’t ever seek others to be like someone else. I am always myself.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Houston. There’s no place like Houston. We have our own style, music, and way of living. Something most cities don’t have all together.
