Meet Daniela Rena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Rena.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
From what people see now isn’t what it was like then. I’m a model from Houston, Texas with a background of heartache. Throughout pain of losing my parents, family, and childhood home. I was able to find what helped me get through that the most, it was modeling. It was being in front of the camera. College is great an all, but it doesn’t allow me to release the inner pain on a daily basis. My focus with modeling has allowed me to talk about the tragedy’s that have happened in my life through my creativity (poses, captions, and fashion). As a kid, I grew up in a messed up world. Unwanted by my birth parents and blood family for the most part. I give all credit to one human being. That’s my grandfather. He raised me with such stars in my eyes and allowed me to shine with them.

Growing up, he noticed I always wanted to dance and sing. He bought me the equipment I needed to succeed in every aspect. Then, acting came in the picture and immediately threw me into what we call the entertainment industry. I auditioned until I was given a role on Disney and became the face of JCPenny’s, Macy’s, and Sears. I learned music from every genre and learned the game of softball very well. For years, this is what I was allowed to do as a child. I was slowing becoming what he told our family that I would become. At the age of twelve, the biggest hit in my life was when he was murdered. I felt like I had lost everything. I kept going. I went on to attended some of the greatest schools in American history. I received almost millions for college scholarships. I was poured with awards my senior year being titled 2016 “most likely to be successful and best student female athlete.” As well as my most rewarding title yet “A Houston Student Ambassador.” I went to travel the country giving speeches about my past and how I overcame the hard challenges in my life. Death, murder, and neglect. I explained how I continued to push myself although I went from wealth to poverty in one month. I began to touch my audience with my honesty.

When it comes to modeling, the disadvantage I have is being a mixed Hispanic, short, and not privileged. As a student like me aiming for all that I did in the past and present; with my personality on the relatable side and size know I can change the world. My grandfather told me one day your body will make a difference so will your smile. His point was that 1. I’m Hispanic. 2. I always have a positive attitude. You may think to yourself “what a survivor.” No. I’m still fighting through all that I went through in my childhood and teenage years. I suffer from anxiety on a daily basis as well as having to relive those memories when I’m asked about them. What makes me the model I am today? I’m a risk taker. I’m different, I don’t look like the girl next door. I have a life. Passion. And most importantly, the attitude of no one can stop me. I may be standing alone on this career path, but becoming the face of Tom Peacock Nissan and multiple clothing lines and brands have taught me that it’s okay. Being myself and keeping a smile on my face has gotten me very far. I want to show the world that you can do anything you wanna do no matter how you look. Follow your heart. Be good to others and love one another.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The challenges for me this month has been trying to find my next move in the entertainment industry.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a model who has invested time, money, and effort into herself. I believe being a young YouTuber, model, and actress has allowed me to build my own name (Me).

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success within myself. I believe that each job opportunity I have earned in the modeling/acting (entertainment industry) Is how I define my success. Yes, getting into Ivy League University is considered successful, but for me, it’s a success with reaching goals I have set for myself.
