Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Massi.
Danielle, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a private practice therapist for almost ten years, I’ve always been invested in helping people with their health and wellness. But last year, when I was diagnosed with cervical cancer, I realized how much was lacking in the health care system. I experienced lack of trauma-informed care, practitioners who didn’t communicate with one another, and no focus whatsoever on holistic health. After my experience, I knew I needed to change my own practice to have a focus on all of the things I felt my experience lacked, and The Wellness Collective was born.
Has it been a smooth road?
Switching gears to a holistic based practice has actually been wonderful. After surviving cervical cancer, my biggest focus is on advocacy and spreading awareness for trauma-informed, holistic care, and that is usually met with so much support from a community that knows how needed it is!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Wellness Collective story. Tell us more about the business.
The Wellness Collective is invested in you as a whole person. We have therapy, coaching, and reiki in house, and we have a team of holistic practitioners (think acupuncture, float centers, life coaches, doctors, etc.) who work with us to make sure that our clients receive the most comprehensive care possible. Being that we facilitate both in person and online work, we’re able to reach people all over the country! I’m so proud of the work that we do, especially our focus on making sure our clients feel supported throughout the process.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I think we’re going to see a bigger focus on connecting virtually with health and wellness providers. The change will likely come soon, as people are becoming more connected with their therapist or coach on platforms like Instagram and Facebook prior to beginning their business relationship. I often have clients connect with me on Instagram prior to working with me because it gives them an opportunity to get to know me before we work together.
