Meet David Eller of Celltex Therapeutics Corporation

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Eller.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I founded Celltex Therapeutics Corporation, a Houston-based biotechnology company, in 2011 to initiate breakthroughs in regenerative medicine through adult stem cells, with my co-founder, internationally recognized spine surgeon, Dr. Stanley Jones. Celltex’s mission is to help our clients live longer and healthier lives through the power of our stem cell technology.

Celltex uses technology that isolates, multiplies and banks autologous (one’s own), adult, adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) to be used for regenerative therapy in a number of conditions, including vascular, autoimmune and degenerative diseases.

Once MSCs are banked, clients may begin therapy through our partner, the state-of-the-art Hospital Galenia in Cancun, Mexico, whenever they wish. Client Services will help schedule therapy, as well as recommend flight and hotel accommodations, and arrange transportation to and from the airport, hotel and hospital.

Today, Celltex remains committed to leading the United States into the future of regenerative medicine through adult stem cells. Our industry leadership and visionary approach continue to drive the company to improve the quality of life for thousands of individuals, with a concerted focus to make this technology accessible to all in the near future.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Along with our journey, Celltex has faced and overcome many challenges. In 2012, after Celltex’s contract manufacturer’s lab processes were questioned by Celltex and the FDA, Celltex took matters into our own hands, breaking our affiliation with the contract manufacturer and opening our own controlled laboratory in Houston. Our laboratory is compliant with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and is registered with the FDA as a Human Cells, Tissues, and Cellular and Tissue-Based (HCT/P) establishment.

Another challenge for Celltex is that the FDA has taken the position that an individual’s own stem cells are considered a drug if they have been expanded in large quantities; therefore, an individual may not use his or her own cells in the United States until clinical trials have been conducted, a process which takes years.

There are people in the United States who do not have the time to wait, which is the reason Celltex established alliances with reputable facilities in Cancun, where stem cell therapy is currently approved. In many other countries, including Mexico, Celltex operations fall under “cell culturing,” rather than “drug manufacturing,” making it possible for our clients to receive their own stem cells in a setting where the therapy is approved by the local government, using cells that are isolated, cultured and stored in the United States in an FDA-compliant laboratory.

Meanwhile, Celltex has started the process. We are currently working with Texas A&M University Health Science Center College of Medicine Institute for Regenerative Medicine on a multiyear research study investigating potential therapies for Alzheimer’s disease using autologous MSC-derived exosomes. We are also conducting an investigational protocol, a Phase II B Wellness Protocol Clinical Study on Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis authorized by COFEPRIS, Mexico’s equivalent governmental regulatory body to the FDA.

Following the conclusion of successful clinical trials, Celltex will seek approval from the FDA to provide stem cells for use by physicians in the US to treat various medical conditions. Until stem cell therapy is legalized in the US, to meet the immediate needs of its clients, Celltex is in compliance with the regulations established by the FDA and COFEPRIS for exporting and importing MSCs.

Please tell us about Celltex Therapeutics Corporation.
Celltex is America’s leading adult stem cell bank. We specialize in banking one’s own MSCs for therapeutic use.

Celltex’s stem cell processing and banking methods ensure the genetic integrity and uniformity of an individual’s cells in quantities never before possible and in the quantities necessary for therapeutic applications. An individual can then use his or her banked stem cells for regenerative therapy through infusions or injections performed by a licensed physician in Cancun.

We are different from other stem cell companies because of our investment in research and development, and our commitment to safety.

Celltex uses MSCs, not embryonic or bone marrow stem cells. Because we only use cells that come from a person’s own body, the risks of allergic reactions and rejection are eliminated. MSCs can become bone, cartilage, muscle, nerves, and fat cells, along with other types of cells.

Other than the MSCs’ ability to become numerous different cell types, they also have the ability to:
• Fight inflammation
• Form new blood vessels
• Direct the immune system, using other repair cell types to aid in healing
• Self-regenerate
• Promote youthfulness

We are most proud of our incredible clients who have gone on to experience amazing improvements in their quality of life after banking their stem cells and receiving stem cell therapy, with stem cells processed by Celltex, through our certified hospital partners in Cancun.

Pricing:

  • Banking enrollment is $6,500, which includes qualifying blood tests, extraction, processing and storage of your cells for one year. Once blood tests are complete, an extraction appointment will be scheduled with a qualified physician.
