Meet David Trinh of D Trinh Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Trinh.

David, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My journey as a photographer started a few years ago when I bought my first DSLR camera. At the time, this thing started as a simple hobby but I quickly developed a love for taking pictures. With encouragement from my friends and family, I decided to start taking pictures for people at no charge. Years later, I can now look back and tell myself that it was the best decision I have ever made. I went on to start my own commercial photography company in 2015 and today, I am extremely thankful for all the people who have made my journey possible.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting a business has been my greatest blessing. It has been an amazing journey to see this thing grow from pen and paper, to a full blown profitable business. With any new business, the road has been rough but very rewarding. In order to be successful in this business, you need to be patient. You need to truly love what you do to be a photographer or else you are in the wrong business. We are still growing and new to the wedding business so this is a whole new market we are trying to tap in.

Please tell us about D Trinh Photography.
I am a commercial photographer in Houston who specializes in weddings and portrait photography. I am the owner of the business and the main photographer. I also work along with my fiancé who has her own photography business called Simply Krystal Photography. She specializes in newborns and maternity. I am known for my ability to draw expressions out of my clients. I believe that anyone can pick up a camera and take a picture but it takes special skill to draw true emotions out of people. The thing that I am most proud of as a company is being able to touch every one of our clients lives, we are very personal and over the years have made some great clients who have become our friends. The thing that sets me apart from others is my passion for photography, I eat, sleep and breathe the craft. There is not one moment during the day where I am not thinking about taking pictures.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I could start over, I would not do anything differently because I believe in failing before you can succeed. I have learned from all of the mistakes I have made and have grown from it.
