Today we’d like to introduce you to Dayna Hall, LaMond Hall.
Dayna, LaMond, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
When we were dating, we would travel to various cities across the United States and while we were there, we would always try to find a local wine bar to visit. We quickly fell in love with the casual, eclectic wine environments and quickly noticed that there wasn’t a place in our city quite like what we were experiencing. As we began to conduct research about owning & operating a wine bar, we noticed that Texas has about 5000+ wineries/vineyards across the state and it ranks 5th in the US for largest wine producing state. At that point, we decided that we will only sell Texas wines.
In June of 2018, we decided on a location, submitted our paperwork to all of the proper agencies and we were up and running in about eight months.
Cork is art inspired boutique wine lounge owned & operated by two local educators tucked away in beautiful downtown Lake Jackson, Texas. We are gradually growing and increasing our friendstomers (friend/customers) daily and we’re excited to see what this journey holds.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has not been smooth and we’ve been numerous challenges in trying to own & operate your own wine bar/lounge.
Let’s talk about business. Tell us about Cork Wine Lounge – what should we know?
Wine. More specifically, we specialize in Texas wine.
We are known for our awesome Texas wines and our delicious food menu items…the pulled pork nachos, stuffed tacos, shrimp toppers & pulled pork sliders.
We are very proud of our family & friends who support our venture.
We decided to only offer Texas wines.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
We have so many people who deserve credit that we can’t name them all. We’ve talked to so many people who offered advice, answered questions and/or just gave us a word of encouragement.
