Today we’d like to introduce you to Deborah and Claude DeShazo.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Our journey began in 1979 with the start of iconic Shannon Fine Jewelry that Houston has come to know and trust. After several years at our newest location in The Champions area, Shannon Fine Jewelry closed it’s doors June of 2018 due to TX-DOT’s plans to widen FM1960 which would subsequently have put our location out of business. At that time, the two Shannon Fine Jewelry locations became separate entities taking new paths on our own journeys. Master Jeweler Claude DeShazo and sales lead Deborah DeShazo (who met and fell in love at Shannon Fine Jewelry) moved the team to the Grand Parkway Marketplace and become the owners under the new name of “Shannon Jewelers” where you will be happy to find the familiar faces and service you have grown to love! We remain a family-owned and operated business with 75 years of combined industry experience with customer service as our top priority. Shannon Jewelers specializes in custom jewelry, engagement rings, diamond jewelry, luxury watches, and jewelry repair. We look forward to the next adventure on our jewelry journey!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Relocating a business that’s been in the same area since 1979 definitely had its obstacles and challenges. With the new location at Grand Parkway Marketplace, our retail storefront and jeweler’s shop footprint became smaller allowing us to offer more personalized customer service and tailored brands. Spreading the word of our new location and name change has been a challenge as we continue to grow Shannon Jewelers in our new market and community.

Shannon Jewelers is a full service, family-owned, luxury jewelry store located at the Grand Parkway Marketplace specializing in custom jewelry, engagement rings, jewelry and watch repair. We’re known for our friendly customer service, speedy on-site repairs, custom craftsmanship by experienced master jewelers and charity work in the community. As a company, we’re most proud of the personalized customer service experience and authentic honesty we provide to every customer. Our unique in-store experience complete with fresh cookies, large screen TV and open bar while you watch the master jewelers hard at work from the large showroom window sets us apart from other jewelry stores in the area.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
As we’re nearing the celebration of our first year of business in our new location, we’re looking forward to what the future holds for Shannon Jewelers. We will be adding new bridal and fashion jewelry collections to our showroom as well as expanding our jeweler’s shop technology.
