Today we’d like to introduce you to Deborah Medrano.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started this business back in year 2000 right when the Y2K scare was around. I was working full-time as a parts and order taker at Milwaukee Electric Tool here in Houston.
I was tired and wanted to stay home with my kids at that time and work from home. So I started checking out the internet and what I could possibly do with myself. I began to be glued to the computer and I was very interested in how it all worked. I studied and studied for about a year and I became very good with writing code. I also became very good with SEO placement in Google with a website I had created. I started to receive a few calls, not many, but a few. I created small websites for these clients. I decided I was ready to quit my full-time job. My husband was very, very upset with me and everyone at my full-time job telling me that the internet was a phase and that it will not last very long. But something inside me wanted to at least try my best. The doors opened in year 2000 and I have not looked back. I have had the privilege of working with small, medium and large businesses. The company has grown to a team of developers and we have prospered tremendously. I am SO glad I listened to my heart and not my feelings back then.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Most of the time it was great…. but there were times, I was exhausted from handling all the work on my own. Until I started hiring extra help.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about All Day Web – what should we know?
As we do all areas of design we try to stay around the environment of CUSTOM web design, not templates and not frameworks, we focus on search engine ranking as the site is being built for our clients.
I have seen too many web developers focusing on WordPress sites, third-party templates, or JOOMLA, etc. instead of delivering a high-end, high-ranking website for their clients. For a professional website, we concentrate on clean code that is not too heavy for SEO, faster download time, etc. There are many reasons why we custom build.
We will also build out WordPress sites as well but we educate our clients beforehand on all of their possibilities.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
High quality website design along with high ranking results, When the client is happy we are happy!
