Today we’d like to introduce you to Desmond Scott and Kristy Scott.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Kristy and I actually stumbled upon wedding film. We have always loved being behind the camera and worked with them for some time. A close family friend was having a wedding and wanted video work to remember her day by. Knowing how much videography could cost we chose to use some of our equipment to create a small film for her. Unknowingly this was the start of a deep love for wedding filmmaking. We began putting things in motion, developing the brand we are known by today, Meant to Be Films. We received a lot of help and guidance from Industry friends and quickly built a company that has prided itself on high values. We are a husband and wife team and truly a dynamic duo together. It’s been such an amazing journey thus far to see how much we have grown and the lifelong friendships we have formed along the way.
Please tell us about your art.
So Meant to Be Films is a wedding filmmaking company here in Houston, Texas. We take a very cinematic approach to our creative stories. We accomplish this successfully by getting to know our couples and their story. On the day of we capture our couple’s most intimate moments. It’s so much fun and truly an honor to be a part of one of the biggest days of someone’s life. After a wedding we take with us all of their delicate memories and then the real work begins. Producing a quality wedding film is a very meticulous task. We have the footage, we have their story and now we have to create a visual that will not only remind the bride and groom of their momentous day but also to help their family and friends understand why this day is so important, why they chose each other, how beautiful and inspiring their love can be. The inspiration is love. Knowing what it means to love, to know you have formed a bond with the one person who understands you, really inspires us to capture others so that they can remember and cherish the day that means so much to them as it did for us. Our hope is that when viewers see our films it inspires them to find and keep the love we all look for in life and to see what an impact it is to have the support of family and friends.
