Today we’d like to introduce you to Donald Rose.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Donald. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
It started with me doing music demos in my bedroom when I was 11. I would record over pause tapes using a dual cassette radio. Around that, I was enamored with writing and creating stories. In school, I was always in choir and theatre arts.
Fast forward years later, I’m performing at hip-hop shows, collaborating with dope artists on the scene, and putting out albums. I had a good buzz and momentum with my movement but lacked the proper resources for staunch marketing to be exposed to a bigger audience.
Since I was still writing stories in music form, I transitioned into writing scripts independently for my web series, short films, and feature-length projects. It also helped that I have a great support system of creatives in my circle.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has truly been a process. The most important thing I’ve learned is to invest in yourself. And that includes equipment, your team, the content, and the intangible things that help you move forward.
I’m a stickler for finishing what I start. From acting, writing, and directing. So I challenge myself on every project to give 200% and ignore all distractions. When you go through the process of translating what you’ve written to film, it’s a beautiful, scary, freeing experience.

I’m proud that Talented Media Group will be releasing the short film “Assassin’s Pen” in the first quarter of 2019. Several screenings will be done in Houston and also various screen festivals.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
To continue to create original content. We just wrapped shooting another short film in LA a few weeks ago. The team is gearing up to shoot some new projects slated for production in 2019.
