Meet Dr. Rhonda Owens of Think & Live Well Counseling Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Rhonda Owens.

Dr. Rhonda, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
For as long as I could remember, I possessed a passion to empower and inspire people. It didn’t occur to me that my passion to help others was a part of my purpose. Many of my family and friends would come to me frequently for advice and encouragement.

After years of helping others solve their issues, I realized that this is something I should pursue as a career choice. I researched the necessary steps needed to get started on my new career path.

Well, I must say it wasn’t easy when I embarked upon my new journey. It required hard work, studying, and staying focused, which was difficult at times, but here I am years later. I have no regrets, and as a result of perseverance, I’m a serial entrepreneur and author.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not! I have experienced many setbacks and roadblocks throughout the years. A few years ago, I was severely ill, and a year later I lost my firstborn. Wow! All signs pointed toward me giving up. That’s right! The counselor needed to be counseled. The encourager needed to be encouraged. The motivator needed motivation. My struggle was great, but I’m amazed that I am stronger and wiser. I have learned that my purpose is greater than my pain.
