Meet Enrique Perez and Jennifer Cooney of Gcoded3d in The Heights

Today we’d like to introduce you to Enrique Perez and Jennifer Cooney.

Enrique has had an interest in 3D printing for the past several years. He had bought a few printers and used them for recreational use. At the beginning of this year, 2020, we decided to start an Etsy shop and begin selling some of the things he had created. We had sold a few things, but our business really took off when Houstonia Magazine posted a photo we had submitted to them of our 3D printed HOU letters. There was a lot of interest so from that moment on we began really trying to push out business and come up with more new items to sell. It’s been really cool to get reviews and see how people are utilizing the art and other items they purchase from us.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When we first started our Etsy shop, we didn’t quite know how to drive business. We’ve done a lot of research to begin to figure out how best to market our shop. We didn’t sell much the first 3 months of opening. We use social media abundantly to gain traction and that has certainly had its ups and downs learning how to get out name out there.

Please tell us about Gcoded3d.
As a business we really just want to get a high quality 3d printed product in the hands of people who will appreciate it. We specialize in 3d Printing in PLA filament of small to medium sized items. Currently our most known piece is a set of HOU letters that represent Houston. They are about 6 inches tall and have different buildings drawn into them from the Houston skyline. We are so proud of this piece and the joy it brought people to have in their house. We are committed to excellent customer service and pride ourselves in our ability to turn a customer’s ideas into reality. We’ve done several custom orders for business as far as Miami and some right here in Houston. We are willing to ensure we get it right, each and every time. Consistency is Key.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
