Erica, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up actually around beauty and art all my life. My grandmother was a nail technician herself and owned a different couple of businesses including a very successful beauty salon. I remember growing up as a little girl getting my hair done in such successfully beauty salon and having to sit under a dryer for hours and hours due to our long thick hair. All that was there at time to entertain me were beauty magazines. and lots and lots of them. I can never remember having to re-read another copy, what I can remember was the hair models in the mag pictures whose eyebrows were beautifully done made the picture a whole difference of better versus the individual whose hair could have been slayed to the Gods, if her ” eyebrows ” were not properly done don’t the whole picture didn’t matter. Thus, birthing my love for ” eyebrows” at such a tender age. Fast- forward to today, I’ve been known for the ” eyebrow lady” for a while now launching my business in 2018 and a dream and a vision from God. In doing so I have been able to empower women making them feel beautiful and refreshed. I plan on eventually becoming a house hold name and an encourager to everyone that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has definitely not been a sooth road, but God has in-deeded been there all the way. Dealt with personal sickness, Depression, heartbreak and betrayal. The ones that you thought were rooting for you were indeed not. Was evicted and homeless for a short while, but with persistence and perseverance God prevailed.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Beautifully Marked Brow CO – what should we know?
My company (Beautifully Marked) actually stared off as a ministry tailoring to broken young women and girls. And as life began to go about for me it was quickly brought to my attn that I posed a gift in making women feel beautiful with my words and my hands. When I received the idea to start the business, I had already had the name beautifully marked patented so I just kept it for the brow business, I actually own my own strip eyelash line as well in which I am extremely proud of. Every lash style was handmade built to perfection handpicked by me with pure mink hairs and wears up to 25 times with proper care. Also to show my gratitude and appreciation, I’ve actually named the different styles of my lashes after my day one clients, the names/styles include – Shantel- Kimberly- Monica- Kayla and my own personal fav ” aunt baby” what sets me apart from others I believe is my passion for the craft that I fell in love with years and years before it became a ” trend” I understood the art of the eyebrow way back then.
