Meet Erik Contreras of Power House Custom Cycles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erik Contreras.

Erik, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m originally from Mexico City, been living in the states for 17 years now. I started working when I was 19 years at a steel fabrication shop.

From that point on, I worked in many other places doing many other things but mainly in the welding and fabrication industry, one of my hobbies is paint and airbrush, something that I’ve done for over 10 years now, in 2008 during the recession, I was forced to leave the oil industry and look for other sources of income, that’s when my luck change, I started working at collision shops where I honed my body and paint skills to the point where I’m able now to design, fabricate and paint complete chassis and parts, 4 years ago I decided to start my own business in the motorcycle industry and so Power House Custom Cycles started.

It’s my 1st time ever in business, and 1st shop, we specialize in custom work on bikes front extensive frame modifications and sheet metal all the way through paint and sounds systems that are nothing but mind-blowing, I consider myself to be greatly blessed and favored. I have the fortune of having a crew of 6 people all of which are top-notch professionals, the road it’s been long and hard but nowadays.

Our work and bikes are seen and recognized all over the states and even abroad, in Taiwan and Canada.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being completely new to the custom bike industry was a big challenge and it was difficult to open the doors at the beginning but with hard work and dedication, we managed to dig our own groove and create an image and a name for ourselves in a very exclusive industry.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Power House Custom Cycles – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
From small repair and service jobs all the way to full-blown one of the kind bike builds, we can Do it all under one roof.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We’re currently building a bigger facility where we hope to move to. Next year, in this new facility, we’ll have twice as much room so we’ll be able to work on bigger projects.
